The most importantThe element Sunflower of any experiment is a caring adult. This activityJar is appropriate for a child who has exchanged asking “why” for asking “how.” “How do plants grow? How do plants in the woods get started? How do the stores get all that food?” Place wet paper towels in a glass jar. Paper towel should be placed loosely, not packed down. Position 4-6 seeds against the insides of the jar so they can be seen. The number of seeds depends on the size of your jar. The sprouts will need room for roots. Place your sunflower jar in a window for light. Water daily with a spray bottle or sprinkle water lightly with your hands. Keep the towels a moist place for the seeds. In a few days sprouts from the seeds will appear. Then come roots. When the sprouts have two leaves and are two inches tall, you can plant them in a pot. • Product Guide 58
Product Guide 58 Tolco Corporation is so much more than just trigger sprayers! After spending over 58 years developing the most innovative and high quality trigger sprayers in the industry, it is easy to see why Tolco is synonymous with trigger sprayers. However, Tolco also sells over 600 products to the Janitorial, Foodservice, Industrial, Beauty & Barber, Consumer Products and Animal Health markets. Tolco Corporation was founded by William E. Spengler in March, 1961. We began with just one product, the D-22 drum pump, which we still sell today. It was that best in class product which would be the foundation of ABOUT US our success. In the years that followed, we began developing the products that would define their categories. The D-22 was just the start, followed by the 320 trigger sprayer, the 942 pump-up sprayer, and continuing today with award winning and innovative products. We are committed to provide you with exciting, innovative products well into the future. Mr. Spengler was fond of saying “Initially, all orders were shipped F.O.B. - from our basement.” Much has changed since 1961, but one thing that hasn’t is that Tolco is still a family owned and operated business. The average employee has been with Tolco over 13 years, and 20% of the staff have been with us for 20 or more years. From our family to yours, thank you for your continued support. We sincerely appreciate your trust and confidence. All of us at Tolco Corporation look forward to providing our customers with many more years of excellence.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION We would like to offer suggestions and explain some of the features of our spray equipment. Specific needs vary with each user. If you cannot find what you need illustrated, we can modify to fit each specific need. The following list may assist you in selecting the right equipment for your needs. HOW TO ORDER A. ATV or Tractor Mounted Units ––– pages 11-19 The three liter containers are the smallest spray size containers designed to be used on ATV and tractor mounted units. You will use more spray solution with these units because it takes more solution to fill all spray lines going to each nozzle. You should not run the spray out while actually spraying plots. When the spray container is emptied, the pressure will increase until the boom is emptied. All spray booms are constructed using 3/8 and 1/2 inch spray hose and Quick TeeJet® diaphragm check valve nozzle bodies. Three Sectional Spray Boom ––– If the motorized vehicle straddles one row, the center section of the spray boom should consist of two nozzles with each lateral section having four nozzles. This will provide a spray boom with 10 nozzles. If your tractor straddles two rows, the center section should consist of four nozzles with four nozzles on each lateral section for a total of 12 nozzles. When ordering tractor mounted sprayers, please specify the number of nozzles you desire on the center section. The lateral four nozzle section can be replaced with a two nozzle section. Nozzle spacing on all booms is 20 inches unless otherwise specified.

  • Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Disinfection for Food Distribution Operations
Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfection for food distribution operations Food Distribution Operations include Food Donors and Donated Food Distribution Organizations (DFDO). Food donors are people, groups, and organizations that donate food to DFDOs. A donated food distribution organization is a charitable organization that provides food, free of charge to the public (e.g., shelters serving people experiencing homelessness). Although they are not held to the same standards as permitted food businesses, food donors and DFDOs are required to comply with state food safety rules. Learn more about Washington State Dept. of Health's food code and regulations on Charity Food Donations. DEFINITIONS Food-contact surfaces are dishes, utensils, and equipment that come into direct contact with food. (e.g., mixing bowls, cutting boards, serving spoons, blenders, etc.) Non-food contact surfaces include food preparation, food storage areas such as counters, tables, pantries, shelving units, appliances, etc. They are areas used to store, prepare, or serve food and are touched by food workers often. Facility, for the purpose of this document, refers to rooms and surfaces outside of the food preparation and service space (e.g., restroom, lobby, hallways, etc.) Cleaning uses soap or detergent mixed with warm water and scrubbed to remove dirt and debris from surfaces. Sanitizing is meant to reduce, but not kill, the occurrence and growth of germs on surfaces. Disinfection uses a chemical to kill germs on surfaces. Disinfectants are very strong and usually require a longer surface contact time (between 1 - 10 minutes) to work. DO NOT use a disinfectant on food and non-food contact surfaces.

  • Plastic Pollution Curriculum and Activity Guide
Plastic Pollution Curriculum and Activity Guide Table of Contents Grade K-3 • World of Waste Students collect and record data of the trash they generate, and describe strategies for using resources wisely (reduce, reuse, recycle, and recover). • There Is No Away Students identify the destination of the waste the generate at home and at school and the negative aspects of dumping or burning trash to ultimately recognize that there is no “away” in “throw it away” • What is a Watershed? Grade 7-12 • Synthetic Sand In this activity students conduct a transect of an area of beach to identify and catalogue the various materials collected there.

  • 6 Natural, Safe Mold Treatment Solutions to Use Instead of Bleach
D R A O B H S A D 6 Natural, Safe Mold Treatment Solutions to use Instead of Bleach How to Address a Minor Mold Issue at Home in a Health-Conscious (and Environmentally-Conscious) Manner Mold is a common problem in buildings, especially in areas where humidity and moisture may be high and where air flow may be limited. Bathrooms, for example, can be a problematic area when it comes to mold. Basements are traditionally an issue as well. However, mold can grow on almost any surface including plastics, ceramic tile, brick and cement, wallboard, cloth, and ceilings. Depending on the size of the area involved and the severity of the issue, mold can often be cleaned up as a do-it-yourself project. Those attempting the cleanup, however, should avoid using toxic chemical cleaning solutions, take appropriate precautions and follow cleaning tips for the particular type of material being cleaned. Of course, it is best to prevent mold before it has a chance to take hold. That is why when it is discovered, mold should be addressed appropriately and swiftly. This guide will help in providing a better understanding on why toxic cleaning solutions should be avoided, the tools one will need for mold cleanup and some natural mold cleaners that can be used in mold remediation. We also include tips for cleaning various types of materials, how to prevent mildew and mold and, perhaps most importantly, outlining when it is time to call in the professionals. p p p y, g p D R A O B Table of Contents H S A D Why Avoid Toxic Cleaning Solutions Helpful Tools for Mold Cleanup Natural Mold Cleaning Solutions Vinegar Baking Soda Hydrogen Peroxide Lemon Juice Tea Tree Oil Grapefruit Seed Extract Cleaning Tips by Surface Tips for Preventing Mold Signs It's Time to Call a Professional Why Avoid Toxic Cleaning Solutions Some cleaning solutions may be great at eradicating all kinds of messes, but they are not always made with the user's (or the rest of the household's) health in mind.
