Best to enjoy it outdoors in an open space (away from buildings, homes, and cars), wearing play clothes or a bathing suit. One can create squirt paintings with anything that sprays or squirts water. Some ideas include: ● Squirt guns, water guns, or water blasters ● Squirt bottles, spray bottles, or squeeze bottles ● Bath squirt toys or pool squirt toy WHAT KIND OF PAINT SHOULD I USE FOR SQUIRT PAINTING? Any type of paint is appropriate for squirt painting as long as it is properly diluted. Well-diluted paint will not clog the tubes or nozzle of your water gun or spray bottle. One favorite type of paint to use is washable liquid watercolor, but one can also use tempera paint, acrylic paint, fabric paint, food coloring, or tie-dye dye. You can even make squirt art with Kool-Aid! Washable liquid watercolors are ready to use right out of the bottle, but to make the paint last longer, dilute it with 2 parts water. If you wish to make light, pastel colors, use 4 parts water. -

Although bites by wild animals can be more dangerous, bites by domestic animals are far more common. Animals’ saliva can be heavily populated with harmful bacteria and secondary infections of wounds often occur. In addition, animals can transmit zoonotic infections such as rabies (See: Bats and Rabies for more Rabies Information), tetanus, hantavirus, etc. Children are more likely to be bitten by animals and can sometimes sustain severe injuries because of their love of animals and inherent curiosity. In a school setting, bites most frequently involve classroom pets; however, bites can also occur from stray pets or wild animals on campus, especially bats, or an animal being brought to school by a student. Common Classroom Pets Rodents (hamsters, rats, gerbils, mice) Reptiles (lizards, snakes, turtles) Amphibians (frogs, toads) Rabbits Fish None of these caged animals pose any rabies risk. The likelihood of a cat or a dog being infected with rabies in Maricopa County is low- the last known rabid dog was documented in 1978. However, if any animal is displaying the possible neurological signs of Rabies (See: Signs and Symptoms) it’s important to call the MCDPH 24/7 Rabies Hotline (602 747-7111) to receive a risk assessment. -
Use of 90% Ethanol to Decontaminate Stethoscopes in Resource Limited

Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control (2017) 6:68 DOI 10.1186/s13756-017-0224-x RESEARCH Open Access Use of 90% ethanol to decontaminate stethoscopes in resource limited settings Bijendra Raj Raghubanshi, Supriya Sapkota, Arjab Adhikari*, Aman Dutta, Utsuk Bhattarai and Rastriyata Bhandari Abstract Background: In developing countries like Nepal, 90% ethanol is cheap and is available in most hospitals. The unavailability of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) in these settings led us to compare the efficacy between 90% ethanol and isopropyl alcohol pads in reducing the bacterial contamination of diaphragm of stethoscope. Methods: A randomized blinded experimental study was carried out to determine the difference between cleaning stethoscopes with 90% ethanol and IPA. Cultures of diaphragm were taken before and after cleaning with one of the cleaning agent. Colony forming units (CFU) count and organism identification was done by a blinded investigator. CFU before and after cleaning were compared using Wilcoxon signed–rank test. Mann Whitney U test was used to compare the decrease in CFU count between the cleaning agents. Results: About 30% of the stethoscopes harbored potential pathogens. Significant reduction in CFU was observed with both IPA (Wilcoxon signed–rank test, P value <0.001) and 90% ethanol (Wilcoxon signed–rank test, P value <0. 001). Comparing median decrease in CFU between cleaning with IPA and with 90% ethanol, no significant difference was found (Mann Whitney U test; U = 1357, P value >0.05). Conclusions: Both 90% ethanol and IPA are equally effective in decontaminating the diaphragm of stethoscope. Selection of agent should be done on the basis of cost and availability. -

Selecting the correct chemical agent for cleaning and disinfecting and safely handling and using that agent is essential to health and wellbeing. Recently, with the increased focus on cleaning to reduce the risk of exposure to coronavirus disease, there have been an associated increase in media stories warning the public of the dangerous chemicals used for disinfectants. All chemical cleaning agents can be harmful to the health of the person using the product if it is not used as directed on the label by the manufacturer. Chemical agents can cause burns, breathing difficulties or damage to the lungs, or possibly result in poisoning. Persons should carefully read instructions for use, safety data sheets, and any health warnings to ensure they have selected the correct chemical agents, have the appropriate personal protection, and use and store the chemicals in a safe way. What are the properties of effective chemical cleaning agents and disinfectants? A wide variety of chemical agents can be used for cleaning, sanitising, and disinfecting. There are 4 categories of cleaners: detergents, degreasers, abrasives, and acids. Each is effective for cleaning different surfaces depending on the type of soiling. How do plants in the woods get started? How do the stores get all that food?” Place wet paper towels in a glass jar. Paper towel should be placed loosely, not packed down. Position 4-6 seeds against the insides of the jar so they can be seen. The number of seeds depends on the size of your jar. The sprouts will need room for roots. Place your sunflower jar in a window for light. Water daily with a spray bottle or sprinkle water lightly with your hands. Keep the towels a moist place for the seeds. In a few days sprouts from the seeds will appear. Then come roots. When the sprouts have two leaves and are two inches tall, you can plant them in a pot. Jamin is an Alaska-based nature photographer who specializes in hunting Alaska’s diverse avifauna through the lens of his camera. Ring-necked ducks breed throughout much of Alaska and often congregate into large flocks during fall migration. Unlike most other diving ducks, ring-necked ducks are frequently found in relatively small, shallow ponds and wetlands. The appropriateness of the bird’s common name (and scientific name “collaris”) is often questioned because, in the field, the neck ring is rarely visible. However, in hand it becomes obvious that males of the species do exhibit a chestnut-colored collar at the base of the neck.
