Do You Know What Makes Netsupport Manager So Unique? NetSupport Manager 12 – A quick summary of some of the supporting features in the product. Oct 2013 Do you know what makes NetSupport Manager so unique? NetSupport Manager is recognised internationally as the market‐leading Remote Control solution for Enterprises large and small. Over the last 23 years, NetSupport Manager has consistently led the way with innovative features to aid in remote PC management. You may think that NetSupport Manager is simply a product offering high speed PC Remote Control, but there is actually a great deal more to the product, and to aid your review we thought we should highlight just a few of the product’s unique and differentiating features. Systems Management Within NetSupport Manager you can instantly perform a hardware inventory of any remote PC recovering over 80 items of system information and gather a full software inventory covering all applications and hot‐fixes installed on the computer. To aid with remote support, an operator can also view and manage applications in memory, processes running as well as remote management of services running. Where greater input is needed, NetSupport Manager also provides a remote command prompt and a remote registry editor, ensuring a system can be fully supported remotely. Remote Access on the move The NetSupport Manager Mobile Control for iOS and Android provides remote control on the move from any iPad, iPhone, iPod, Android tablet and smartphone or Kindle Fire. The Mobile Control app allows a user to quickly search and connect to both local computers by either IP address or PC name, or to browse, connect and view remote computers utilising the free NetSupport Manager Internet Gateway component. The mobile apps also support the new PIN Connect feature, ensuring easy “handshaking” with another user. The NetSupport Manager Control provides full remote control, chat and message capabilities of any remote PC running an existing NetSupport Manager Client. The latest version also ensures a quick hardware inventory can be gathered when needed to assist with remote support and the ability to connect to and view multiple remote systems simultaneously. Oct 2013 Multi‐System Monitoring Most Remote Control solutions were developed around the concept of 1:1 support; NetSupport Manager is unique in its focus of 1:many support. NetSupport Manager allows you to remotely monitor any number of systems to simultaneously, view real‐time thumbnails of all target systems, send commands to all computers in a single action ‐ and much more. Even our file transfer offers not just the traditional copy files from PC “A” to PC “B”, but a powerful file distribution mode, allowing files or updates to be sent to multiple computers in a single action ‐ and yes, that’s unique too. Our 1:many flexibility is further extended by our support for a range of Client platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS (in addition to legacy DOS, Solaris and Win CE support) ensuring a system manager can view a diverse range of devices simultaneously. NetSupport Manager also offers full integration with Thin and Zero client environments, including full compatibility with Microsoft, WYSE, HP, NComputing and MiniFrame solutions to name but a few. Security and AD integration When you purchase NetSupport Manager you can immediately secure your software against its unique licence number (ensuring only computers with the same licence are able to connect), or by utilising a security key, which makes your copy of NetSupport Manager incompatible with any others. NetSupport then adds user‐based controls, passwords can be set on all computers and user acknowledgements can be required. NetSupport even offers support for users and systems with smartcard authentication. Security is also profiled, allowing for functionality to be structured depending on the individual attempting to control a PC. Technicians can be given access to only certain computers, or when connecting, specific features can be disabled. NetSupport Manager offers full integration with AD. NetSupport Manger includes multi‐level DES and AES encryption as standard and provides full logging capabilities to record connection details and activities undertaken. Oct 2013 Connectivity for every scenario Remote control products fundamentally rely on flexibility in their approach to finding and connecting to end‐user devices. NetSupport Manager is designed to work over a LAN, WAN or the internet, with support for both TCP/IP and HTTP communications (and even legacy IPX and NetBIOS support). A unique "gateway" module is provided as standard allowing systems across the internet to connect securely and communicate without the need to use a third party‐hosted solution. The new PIN Connect feature allows quick connectivity with users simply by sharing a matching code, while the "always available" capabilities of NetSupport Manager ensure computers can be connected to at any time of day, remotely powered on and off with "wake on LAN" and, in the case of Intel® vPro™ systems, even remotely managed at the BIOS level. Geo Locate and group devices New to NetSupport Manager is a simple but flexible feature aimed at making the grouping of remote devices much easier for companies supporting multiple sites. When a user connects to a remote PC, if enabled, the location of the device will be calculated based on its external details. This information allows NetSupport Manager to provide an approximate location of each remote device, displaying the town, state and country (with supporting flag) within the Control application. Devices are automatically grouped by country for easier management. The feature can be enabled or disabled at both the Control and Client or simply managed via Group Policy. Auto‐Grouping of Remote Systems The Control "tree view" provides an instant overview of your IT infrastructure by grouping the remote systems based on pre‐ defined criteria such as Operating System, PC type (laptop, all‐ in‐one, desktop, tablet, virtual PC etc), even country. In addition, all devices are auto‐grouped by NetSupport version, ensuring upgrades are easy to manage. These include the ability to power‐on, power‐off and restart the remote machine when performing out‐of‐hours maintenance; view and reconfigure BIOS information, and if necessary, boot from a remote operating system image. When plugged into AC power, the above can be performed on a notebook system wirelessly. NetSupport Manager provides all components as standard, including a unique "connectivity server" that can be deployed in minutes if you want remote support away from your WAN without boundaries, cutting edge mobile apps available to download for free from the Google and Apple app stores, and one clear proposition... A one‐time purchase for use across your enterprise; a one‐time purchase for a permanent lifetime licence; a solution that doesn't require you to use or send your data via third‐party servers, doesn't need remote hosting and doesn't charge you again and again with annual subscriptions. Think Remote Control and you may think simple access to a remote PC screen; think NetSupport Manager and enjoy true multi‐platform remote control, file management, inventory management, PC diagnostics, audio and screen collaboration, interactive training tools, geolocation and much more. Think Remote Control and you may think one‐to‐one; with NetSupport you can monitor and view dozens of devices in a single view, automate activities, group by location, platform, device type and so much more. • Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Frequently asked questions and answers: Now that I have installed the NetSupport Manager Mobile app onto my iPad/Android device, what do I need to do next so I can remote control the screens of my desktop computers? NetSupport Manager uses two key components for everyday remote control. The first is the “control” software which is where you perform the remote control sessions from. The NetSupport Manager Mobile app is a “control” and the control software is also available on Windows platforms from XP onwards. The second component is the “client” software, which is installed on each and every PC that you want to be able to remote control. The client software is available for all Windows platforms, plus Mac and Linux computers. Once the client software is installed on a PC, it will start “listening” for any control that wants to connect to it (security permitting). How do I find and connect to a desktop PC from my tablet or smartphone? The NetSupport Manager Mobile control provides three methods for locating and then connecting to a remote PC. The first approach is to simply browse your local network over TCP/IP - any PC with a NetSupport Manager client installed on it will acknowledge and advise on its details. If you are a bit more technical, you can customise the browse process to include just local or multiple subnets. The second approach is to simply click on the + symbol, on the top right menu within the all computers view, and add the name and IP address of a PC that you already know.

List of TCP and UDP port numbers - Wikipedia, th... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TCP_and_U... List of TCP and UDP port numbers From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This is a list of Internet socket port numbers used by protocols of the transport layer of the Internet Protocol Suite for the establishment of host-to-host connectivity. Originally, port numbers were used by the Network Control Program (NCP) in the ARPANET for which two ports were required for half-duplex transmission. Later, the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) needed only one port for full-duplex, bidirectional traffic. The even-numbered ports were not used, and this resulted in some even numbers in the well-known port number range being unassigned. The Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) and the Datagram Congestion Control Protocol (DCCP) also use port numbers. They usually use port numbers that match the services of the corresponding TCP or UDP implementation, if they exist. The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) is responsible for maintaining the official assignments of port numbers for specific uses.[1] However, many unofficial uses of both well-known and registered port numbers occur in practice.
