Änderung vom 10.11.2020, GMBl Nr. 45 Technische Regeln für Einstufung von Viren in TRBA 462 Biologische Arbeitsstoffe Risikogruppen Die Technischen Regeln für Biologische Arbeitsstoffe (TRBA) geben den Stand der Technik, Arbeitsmedizin und Arbeitshygiene sowie sonstige gesicherte wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse für Tätigkeiten mit biologischen Arbeitsstoffen, einschließlich deren Einstufung, wieder. Sie werden vom Ausschuss für Biologische Arbeitsstoffe ermittelt bzw. angepasst und vom Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales im Gemeinsamen Ministerialblatt (GMBl) bekannt gegeben. Diese TRBA „Einstufung von Viren in Risikogruppen“ konkretisiert im Rahmen des Anwendungsbereichs die Anforderungen der Biostoffverordnung. Bei Einhaltung der Technischen Regeln kann der Arbeitgeber insoweit davon ausgehen, dass die entsprechenden Anforderungen der Verordnung erfüllt sind. Wählt der Arbeitgeber eine andere Lösung, muss er damit mindestens die gleiche Sicherheit und den gleichen Gesundheitsschutz für die Beschäftigten erreichen. Die vorliegende Technische Regel beruht auf der BGI 631 „Sichere Biotechnologie – Einstufung biologischer Arbeitsstoffe: Viren“ des Fachausschusses „Chemie“ der Deutschen Gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung (DGUV). Purpose of this handout Congratulations on making it to Year 2 of medical school! You are that much closer to having your Doctor of Medicine degree. If you want to PRACTICE medicine, however, you have to be licensed, and in order to be licensed you must first pass all four United States Medical Licensing Exams. This book is intended as a starting point in your preparation for getting past the first hurdle, Step 1. It contains study tips, suggestions, resources, and advice. Please remember, however, that no single approach to studying is right for everyone. USMLE – What is it for? In order to become a licensed physician in the United States, individuals must pass a series of examinations conducted by the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). These examinations are the United States Medical Licensing Examinations, or USMLE. Currently there are four separate exams which must be passed in order to be eligible for medical licensure: Step 1, usually taken after the completion of the second year of medical school; Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK), this is usually taken by December 31st of Year 4 Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS), this is usually be taken by December 31st of Year 4 Step 3, typically taken during the first (intern) year of post graduate training. Requirements other than passing all of the above mentioned steps for licensure in each state are set by each state’s medical licensing board. For example, each state board determines the maximum number of times that a person may take each Step exam and still remain eligible for licensure. -

These isolates had cultural characteristics on YMA quite similar to Azorhizobium caulinodans (alkalinization, scant extracellular polysaccharide production, fast or intermediate growth rate). They exhibited a high similarity of phenotypic and genotypic characteristics among themselves and to a lesser extent with A. caulinodans. DNA:DNA hybridization and 16SrRNA sequences support their inclusion in the genus Azorhizobium, but not in the species A. caulinodans. The name A. doebereinerae is proposed, with isolate UFLA1-100 ( ¼ BR5401, ¼ LMG9993 ¼ SEMIA 6401) as the type strain. -

Owens ABSTRACT (Academic) Pregnancy loss and calf death can cost dairy producers more than $230 million annually. While methods involving nutrition, climate, and health management to mitigate pregnancy loss and calf death have been developed, one potential influence that has not been well examined is the reproductive microbiome. I hypothesized that the microbiome of the reproductive tract would influence heifer fertility and calf gut microbial development. The objectives of this dissertation were: 1) to examine differences in phenotypes related to reproductive physiology in virgin Holstein heifers based on outcome of first insemination, 2) to characterize the uterine microbiome of virgin Holstein heifers before insemination and examine associations between uterine microbial composition and fertility related phenotypes, insemination outcome, and season of breeding, and 3) to characterize the various maternal and calf fecal microbiomes and predicted metagenomes during peri-partum and post-partum periods and examine the influence of the maternal microbiome on calf gut development during the pre-weaning phase. In the first experiment, virgin Holstein heifers (n = 52) were enrolled over 12 periods, on period per month. On -3 d before insemination, heifers were weighed and the uterus was flushed. -

Scientific Committee on Vector-borne Diseases Review of Hantavirus Infection in Hong Kong Purpose This paper reviews the global and local epidemiology of hantavirus infection and examine the prevention and control measures in Hong Kong. The Pathogen and the Reservoir 2. Hantaviruses belong to the genus Hantavirus, family Bunyaviridae1. They can cause haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) in human1-4. 3. Haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome has been described prior to World War II in Manchuria along the Amur River2, in Russia and Sweden in 1930s3. Between 1950 and 1953, large human outbreaks have been reported when 3000 US soldiers were stricken with the disease during the Korean War 1-3 and the fatality ranged from 6-8% to over 33% in some small outbreaks1. However, the causative virus has not been isolated until 1978 from a field rodent (Apodemus agrarius) near the Hantaan river3,5 and was subsequently termed Hantaan virus6. HFRS was later found to be caused by other viruses as well, including Seoul, Puumala and Dobrava virus, affecting more than 200,000 people per year in Europe and Asia6 . They are also grouped under the genus Hantavirus, family Bunyaviridae. Hantaviruses that cause HFRS are termed Old World hantaviruses (Table 1). 4. In 1993, a new disease appeared in the southwestern US, namely Four Corners region (New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah)3. The disease was later called “hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS)”. This disease was found to be caused by a genetically distinct hantavirus, and it was termed Sin Nombre virus6. Its reservoir was the deer mouse (Peromyscus maniculatus).
