Mac has performed with blues greats like James Brown and Muddy Waters. For the third year in a row, he was nominated for best Traditional Blues Male Artist at the 2012 Blues Music Award. He continues to serve up a “mess of Blues” with his band, Plate Full O’ Blues.     Dear students, educators and friends, For 130 years, AT&T has been committed to making a difference in the lives of the people and communities of South Carolina. One of the ways we try to do that is through the South Carolina African-American History Calendar. Now beginning its third decade, the Calendar was conceived simply as a tool to assist the State Department of Education in meeting the statutory requirement to include African-American history in the curriculum. Over the years, it has evolved into an online information resource used by thousands worldwide, spreading the benefits far beyond the classrooms of our state, and the unveiling of each year’s Calendar has become an eagerly-awaited community event. Our community partners have been invaluable in the Calendar’s success and we appreciate their continuing commitment and support. Throughout its history, the Calendar has remained true to its mission of recognizing and honoring the achievements of African- Americans with roots in South Carolina.     June 2016 Edition The Blues Jam that has been held since last May on the 4th Prairie Crossroads Blues Wednesday of the month at Bentley’s is currently under negotiation for a new site. Bentley’s management is heading in a new direction and have decided against hosting this event. This event has been wonderfully Society attended and the music has flat out been amazing.
