The trader has been identified as Muhudin Osoble who operated a butchery in Sukyare market in Darkeynley district. The shooting occurred a few minutes after dawn prayers. Osoble was headed to his workplace after coming out of a local mosque when he was accosted by two gunmen. The trader died at the scene of the shooting and the assailant fled the scene. The Koranic teacher was later pronounced dead after he succumbed to gun wound injuries. The shooting happened in Mogadishu’s Wadajir district. Police have launched an investigation in to the killing but no arrest has been made. https://www.radiodalsan.com/en/2018/05/29/koranic-teacher-shot-dead-in-mogadishu/ EUTM - SOMALIA 1 EUTM - SOMALIA 30/05/2018 Somalia: Parliamentary Staffer Shot Dead in Mogadishu Attack Armed Assailants believed to be Al-Shabaab assassins have on Monday afternoon shot dead Parliamentary staffer in Mogadishu, the Somali capital, Police and witnesses said. The victim, Omar Dhalahow has been assassinated near Shaqaalaha junction in Mogadishu's Waberi district after gunmen sprayed bullets upon his vehicle. Dhalahow has been a member of the treasury department of the Lower House Chamber of the Federal Parliament. The speaker of the House has strongly condemned the murder. The killers have managed to escape from the scene before the arrival of the Somali security forces, who failed to bring the red-handed perpetrators into justice. Speaking at a security meeting in the city, the mayor said the government forces with the support of the locals have made tangible progress in the security in the past months. "During the conference on the stabilization of the country, we have presented our own plan to secure Mogadishu and the achievements made in the past 4 months," he added. The situation of the IDPs in the capital and surrounding areas have dominated the meeting as the locally displaced people are currently in dire need of humanitarian assistance following heavy rains and floods. The mayor stated that his administration is working to restore the city's lost glory through enhanced service delivery, better management, and the integration o the people. In the first ten days of the holy month, which started on May 17 for most Muslims across the world, the number of casualties reached at least 525 (203 deaths, 322 injuries). Islamic terrorists killed about 20 people and injured another 30 each day on average since the beginning of Ramadan. At least 52 attacks have taken place so far during the holy month. Many jihadists believe it is exceptionally heroic and Allah especially rewards “martyrdom” during the sacred month. Jihadist groups and other Islamists are known to urge their members and supporters to engage in jihad on Ramadan. Nevertheless, the majority of Muslims solely abide by Ramadan’s fasting tradition: abstaining from eating, drinking, smoking, having sex, and other physical needs each day, starting from before the break of dawn until sunset. So far this year, the Afghan Taliban appears to be the deadliest group, followed by the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL), which still poses a threat in the wake of the devastating loss it suffered in Iraq and Syria at the hands of the U.S.-led coalition and local forces. ISIS was the most prolific terrorist group last year, when Ramadan casualties reached 3,343 (1639 deaths, 1704 injuries), marking the bloodiest Muslim holy month in recent history. Given that news outlets and governments fail to report many of the terrorist attacks in real time, the casualty total for the first ten days is subject to change. Government officials may update some of the casualty totals as some of the injured victims succumb to their injuries, which may also prompt a change in the count after Breitbart News publishes this report.
