(a) Itlt is not fitting that a Muslim man performs his Sa/atSatgt next to,lo, or behind a woman in the Sacred Mosque or at any other place if il it is at all possible to avoid doing so. Women should pray behind men.

To tum completely away from the religion of Allah, neither learning itsits precepts nor acting upon it. Allah the Most High, says: "Who does greater wrong than the oneons who isis remindedof the revelations ofol his Lord and turns away from them. Truly, We shall recompense the gUilty,"guilty"' and He also says: "But those who disbelieve tumturn away fromfrom that about which they are warned." ItIt makes no difference whether such violations are committed as a joke, inin seriousness or out of fear, except when they are done under compulsion.

(a)(a)Do not cut your nailsnalls or pull out hair. There Isls no blame on you ifif thesethese breakor come off by themselves wlthoutwithout your inlendingintending it.

(b)Do not use scent,whether on the clothesor on the body,or In food or drink. Thereis no harm if the effecleffect of scent appliedbefore putting on ihram remains.

(c) Do not kill, frighten or assist in hunting any land game as long asa$ you are in ihram.

(d) Within the predntsprecints of al·Haram,a-!-,Ha-tam.,no one, in the state of ihram or not, is allowed to cut trees, pluck vege­vege- tables or collect a lost property except for the sake of identifying it for its owner. For the Messenger ofot AllahAtlah (peace be upon him) said so.

(e) Do not propose to a woman or contract marriage either forlor yourself or on behalf of others. Sexual inter­inter- course is prohibited too, so is touching the apposite sex with desire. All these actions are-prohibited during the period ofot ihram.ihrar!,

2. After finishing the Farewell Tawa!,Tawaf,some people walk backwards, facing the K'abah, as they exit fromlrom the Sacred Mosque, under the impression that this is a veneration of the K'abah. This act is an innovationinnbvation(bid'a)(bid'al in the religion and is without any basis.

3. After finishingflnishingthe Farewell Tawaf, some pilgrims halt at the door of the Sacred Mosque to make supplica­supplica- tions.tlons.This is also an innovation with no basis in the Shari'ahSharl'ahof Islam.lslam.

1. Touching and wiping one's hands on the walls and iron grilles, tying threads to the gratings, and other acts of this sort while visiting the grave of the Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allah be on him) in order to receivsreceive blessings (barakah)lbarakahl are an innovationinnovation !brd"l. (bid'a). Blessingscome fromfrom followingfollowing what Allah and His Messenger (peace be on him) have prescribed,prescribed. and not from following innovations.

2. Goingto the cavesof MountUhud or to thethe cavesof Hira or Thaurnear Makkahand hangingpieces olof cloth or making supplications there have not beenprescribed by Allah. All these are unnecessary hardships, innova-innova­ tions in the religion, and are withoutany basis in the Shari'ah.

Likewise, visiting certain sites under the impression thatthat thesetheseconstitute "relics" of the Prophet (peace be on him), as forlor example thethe place where his camel sat, the 'Uthman Well of 'Uthman or the Well of ot the Ring, and gathering soil fromfromthesethese places toto obtain"blessings","blessings", are all innovations.

4. To learn what actions are prescribed by the ~ Shari'al, 'umrah, or .hajj.haiiand 'umrah, and in thetha event of any difficulty or problem to ask those who know.

Itlt is permissible to fast these three days either consecutively or separately, and the same applies to th€the seven days of fasting at home.

Visitingthethe graves of the Prophet(peace be on him) and others is allowedfor Malesonly, and not for females,females. so that they would not have to travel for such a visit.

51. Rubbingand wiping one'sone!s hands againstthe walls olof the chamherchamber containing the Prophet's tomb,tomb. kissingit, or doing circuits around it are all innovations which are prohibited. Such things were not done by our upright ancestors:ancestors.'InIn particular, making tawaftawat around the chamber is ~shlrk (ascribing partners to Allah).

52. It lt is also ~ shirk to call upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) for the fulfilment of a need or to remove a grief.grief.

The Prophet's life in his grave is is inin the state ofol barzakhbarza|h (the state of existence between death and resurrection on the Day of Judgement)Judgement)andand isis inin no way similar to his lifelife on earthbefore his death. 55.Visiting the grave of the Prophet(peace be on him) is neither obligatory nor a conditionfor the completion of thelhe hajj.haii, as somesorne people believe.
