They are reduced to a common form, and the following con- tractions, as before, have been freely used : w. = widower or widow. p. = of the parish of. co. = in the county of. dioc.= in the diocese of. lie. = marriage licence. It should be remembered that previous to 1752 the year was calculated as beginning on the 25th March, instead of the I St of January, so that a Marriage taking place on say 20th February, 1625, would be on that date in 1626 according to our reckoning ; but as the civil and ecclesiastical year were both used, this is sometimes expressed by 20th February, i62f. In all cases where the marriage is stated to have taken place by Licence, that fact is recorded, as the searcher thereby knows that further information as to age, parentage, and voca- tion of the parties is probably recoverable from the Allegations in the Archdeaconry or other ofifice from which the Licence was issued. -

North West Leicestershire Local Plan – Report on Examination - September 2017 APPENDIX SCHEDULE OF RECOMMENDED MAIN MODIFICATIONS 1 North West Leicestershire Local Plan – Report on Examination - September 2017 Modification Document Policy/ Modified Text Reference Page Paragraph/ Number Table MM1 23 New A Housing and Economic Needs Development Assessment (HEDNA) has been undertaken for the Leicester and paragraph Leicestershire Housing Market Area (HMA) which identifies the future housing and employment needs for the 5.4 district. Whilst the HEDNA was completed towards the end of the process of preparing this Plan it was considered and subjected to public consultation as part of the evidence base and provides the basis for the housing and employment provision made in this plan. MM2 23 Paragraph It is essential that there is a sufficient supply of land for future business needs in order to ensure that the local 5.4 economy continues to grow. We have had regard to work undertaken on behalf of the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership in 2013 by the Public and Corporate Economic Consultants (PACEC) on this (new matter. This identified that up to 2031 there would be 5,600 employment jobs created (that is those uses which paragraph fall within the B Use Class of the Use Classes Order 2015). This then translates in to a need for about 96 hectares 5.5) of land for employment. This is the basis upon which the employment land needs of the plan are based. The HEDNA has identified a need for 66 hectares of employment land (comprising those uses which fall within Class B1, B2 and B8 of less than 9,000sq metres (as defined by the Use Classes Order 2015). -

SMISBY VILLAGE NEWSLETTER July 2021 Community Speedwatch We have been very pleased to hear that a meeting will be set up shortly with the Safer Neighbourhood Team PCSO to confirm start-up arrangements, since we have lost 18 months due to COVID. We have now ordered the necessary equipment and will be making arrangements with our PCSO who will provide the basic theory training which we hope will be in the village hall one day or evening - for about an hour. Next comes practical training in Smisby. Volunteers We have already had expressions of interest from some volunteers but we need a big enough group to allow us to monitor the road speed SMISBY WOMENS INSTITUTE regularly. Please contact Cllr Mike Like many WIs, Smisby has embraced zoom to enable us to keep in touch with members. It sets out the special historic and architectural interest that makes the character and appearance of Smisby worthy of protection. It also assesses the degree of damage to that special interest and thus opportunities for future enhancement. This document will be used by the Council when making professional judgements on the merits of development applications. The Smisby Conservation Area was designated by South Derbyshire District Council on 13th July 1978. Summary Smisby lies in south-east Derbyshire, only half a kilometre from the Leicestershire border, on a south-facing hillside overlooking the market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. It is approached via thinly-populated former common land, which is traversed by straight and featureless enclosure roads, which make Smisby feel cut off. The village sits on a band of Bromsgrove Sandstone, distinguished by its reddish colour and Smisby Conservation Area Character Statement fine-grained character. There are bands of sandstone outcropping in this area north of Ashby and it can be seen within Smisby as small outcrops on Forties Lane. -

The sites are organised on a settlement basis and records all completions year-by-year. It should be noted that some sites may still be in the process of being developed. For ease of reference the total completions for each settlement are colour coded according to the settlement’s category in the settlement hierarchy set out in Policy S2 of the Local Plan.
