The Magic of Naples and the Amalfi Coast a 10 Or 7-Day Tour of the Gem of the Mediterranean The Magic of Naples and the Amalfi Coast A 10 or 7-Day Tour of the Gem of the Mediterranean Choose from two fabulous trips June 10 to 17, 2022 (7 day trip) September 16 to 27 (10 day tip) The breathtaking beauty of the Amalfi Coast is sure to steal your heart. On this trip, we’ll take in the 50-kilometer coastline that stretches from Salerno to Sorrento, along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula, in the Campania region. It’s one of the European Union’s most popular holiday destinations, with sheer cliffs and a rugged shoreline dotted with small beaches and pastel-colored fishing villages. The coastal road between the port city of Salerno and cliff-top city of Sorrento winds past grand villas, terraced vineyards and Cliffside lemon groves. This is a trip you don’t want to miss. The Journey Begins – Choose from Three Spectacular Trips Friday, June 10, 2022 / Friday, September 16, 2022 Depart USA for Naples Italy Saturday, June 11, 2022 / Saturday, September 17, 2022 Arrive in Naples Italy and Transfer to Villa San Cosma in Ravello The bus ride to Ravello from Naples is about 45 minutes to one hour. Once we get to Ravello, we’ll get settled into our apartments, relax at the pool with snacks and beverages…most likely take a walk into town. Sunday, June 12, 2022 / Sunday, September 18, 2022 A Ferry Ride to the beautiful Positano Coast We’ll enjoy breakfast at the villa before departing at 10:30 for the Cliffside village of Positano on the southern Amalfi Coast. Positano is a well-known vacation destination with a pebble beachfront and steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and café’s. When we depart the ferry we have the option of going to the beach (there’s a great beach bar, where we can take up residence and enjoy swimming in the sea); or if you prefer you can walk the many streets and enjoy the shopping (very special in Positano). We’ll have lunch in Positano. Later in the afternoon we’ll head back to the villa for dinner. Monday, June 13, 2022 / Monday, September 19, 2022 The Sorrento Coast Following Breakfast at the villa, we’ll head to Sorrento, one of our favorite Amalfi Coast cities. Sorrento is magical in so many ways with its majestic vistas, great shopping and exquisite food. We’ll have lunch in Sorrento, and dinner back at Villa San Cosma. Tuesday, June 14, 2022 / Tuesday, September 20, 2022 Pompeii and the Secret Terrace We’ll have breakfast at the villa after which we can walk into Ravello, or just relax at the villa. We’ll have lunch at the villa before departing for an afternoon tour of the ancient city of Pompeii. This breathtaking tour will blow your mind. Our guide, Antonio Mosca (also our guide in Naples) is mesmerizing, scholarly, riveting and explains things in a way that you can see how it must have been to live in these times. Amazing! Dinner is a very special experience called ‘The Secret Terrace’. We will dine in a private home in Pompeii, where our hostess, Antonella, will serve us a feast like no other, while we overlook the volcano, Mount Vesuvius, which erupted, destroying Pompeii and much of Naples. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 / Wednesday, Sept 21, 2022 We Will Savor Bosco De Medici Vineyard In the heart of Pompeii sits one of the most exquisite vineyards you’ll ever visit, Bosco De Medici. Here we’ll enjoy a tour, wine tasting and lunch. The family farm sits on the old road to the ancient city, which you’ll see on our tour of the vineyards. The grapes for these unique wines come from the base of Mt Vesuvius, making them completely unique. Let’s just say that in all our years of traveling to Italy, we have never shipped wine home, until we visited this vineyard. Thursday, June 16, 2022 / Thursday, September 22, 2022 An adventurous day to Minori and Amalfi After breakfast at the villa, we’ll enjoy a picturesque forty-five minute walk to the seaside town of Minori. Here, we’ll have some free time to walk around before enjoying lunch at Pasticceria Sal De Riso (be sure to save room for dessert, as it’s the best in all of Italy)! After lunch we’ll take a short water taxi ride over to the town of Amalfi for the afternoon before heading back up the hill for dinner at the villa. ,June 17, 2022 / Friday, September 23, 2022 A Ravello and villa day On this our final day before we depart for Naples, we’ll stay at the villa, walk into town, and enjoy our final day in Ravello. If you’d like, you can visit Villa Cimbrone in the afternoon. Villa Cimbrone is a historic building and expansive garden in Ravello, just a 10-minute walk from Villa San Cosma. Dating from at least the 11th century AD, it is famous for its scenic belvedere, the Terrazzo dell'lnfinito (the Terrace of Infinity). Saturday, September 24, 2022 Transfer from Villa San Cosma to Arrive Naples We’ll get settled into our hotel, Decumani Hotel De Charme right in the heart of the historic district. Once settled in, we’ll head out to lunch and a short walk before relaxing in the afternoon, prior to dinner. Sunday, September 25 and Monday, September 26, 2022 Touring Naples Like Rome, Milano, Florence and Venice, Naples is a very special city. Once the most important city in all of Europe, the bay city of Naples is today the ninth most populated European Union City. Dating to the 2nd millennium BC, Naples has centuries of important art and architecture. Our guide, Antonio Mosca will take us on amazing adventures. We’ll have breakfast each morning at the hotel and lunch and dinner in local restaurants. Antonio Mosca (Tony Fly) our faithful guide in Naples and Pompeii Saturday, June 18, 2022 / Tuesday, September 27, 2022 Depart for USA .

Most hotels and villas are open from March/April through October/November. The towns on the water with beaches include Amalfi, Atrani, Cetara, Furore, Maiori, Minori, Praiano, Positano, and Vietri sul Mare. Towns higher up on the cliffs include Agerola, Ravello, Scala, and Tramonti. Amalfi Coast is crossed by Strada Statale 163 Amalfitana (world-famous known as Amalfi Drive), a 50km (30 miles) stretch of road from north to south. If we take the two entrance points to the Amalfi Coast with Sorrento in the north and Salerno in the south, the road goes through the towns in this order: Positano | Praiano | Amalfi | Atrani | Minori | Maiori | Cetara | Vietri Sul Mare It's important to know the order as that would make exploring the towns a bit easier. The Sorrento to Salerno direction is more preferrable as, by being in the right lane, you are right next to the cliffs with no opposing traffic to block your view. There are no trains serving the Amalfi Coast. By Wanderlust Storytellers Quick Overview: • Day 1: Drive to Amalfi Coast and explore Positano • Day 2: Enjoy the stunning Ilse of Capri • Day 3: Explore the beautiful coastal towns along the Amalfi Coast drive Accommodation: • 2 Nights at either Positano, Praiano, Ravello or Amalfi (We recommend 3 nights in Amalfi) HELPFUL INFORMATION When to Go: May – June and September – October Try to avoid heading there in the middle of summer as it will be sweltering hot and you will find crowds everywhere! How Long Should I Stay on the Amalfi Coast? We highly recommend a minimum of 3 days and 4 nights. Most travelers choose to spend 7 days on Amalfi Coast which is the optimum amount of days to fit in all the towns, walks, beaches and day trips. Which Town Should I Stay at on the Amalfi Coast? Our absolutely favourite town to stay in is Positano. It is truly the most beautiful out of all the towns but unfortunately it is also one of the costlier ones to stay at. Read more about Positano in our guide here. If you need help in figuring out where to stay, you will find our detailed comparison table and review guide of the towns beneficial. How to get from Naples to Amalfi Coast: • Options: You have the option of catching local transport (bus, train, ferry); grabbing a private transfer (we personally love Blacklane Transfers); or Renting a Car (our personal favourite method). • Time Required to get from Naples to Positano: Around 1.30 hours (more if driving in rush hour traffic) Day One POSITANO ACCOMMODATION: Amalfi MORNING | Drive from Naples to Positano Depending on your arrival time in Naples, you could either visit Pompeii or Sorrento on the way down to Positano.

Italy: Gardens of Campania 4 – 9 May 2018 May 4 Naples ( D ) Arrival in Naples airport and private transfer to your 4 star hotel Santa Lucia Time at leisure and dinner at the gourmet restaurant of the hotel where you will taste the best of the Neapolitan cuisine. May 5 Naples, Santa Chiara cloister, Botanical Garden ( B ) This morning you will meet your guide at the hotel, then you will reach by bus the Cloister of Santa Chiara. The gardens of the cloister of Santa Chiara are of not only horticultural but also great historical and cultural interest. The cloisters are located behind the Gothic Church built in 1320. You have very little information about the origins of the cloister gardens as the Monastery allowed its nuns very little contact with the outside world. In the 1700's, life in the Monastery changed significantly and the Mother Superior engaged the Architect Domenico Antonio Vaccaro to decorate the cloister which was in that time used also for parties and concerts. Vaccaro built the gardens as we see them today including the 72 tile covered pillars of the pergola, the tile covered benches and fountains, tiles being a traditional form of art in Campania. The plantings in the raised flower beds are representative of the antique monastic tradition with vegetables and citrus fruits as well as ornamental plants. Then your guide will lead you on a short walk through the street of “Spaccanapoli” and you will reach Piazza San Domenico where you will taste the Naples’ typical pastry “ Sfogliatella” with a legendary Espresso .
