About the Business Unit

Presenter Services sits within the Performing Arts pillar is responsible for the planning, sales and event management of activities by all hirers of Arts Centre Melbourne performance venues and public site. The business unit is comprised of venue sales and business development and account management to ensure a central touch point for all clients across all areas of the business. Key outcomes are venue utilisation, planning, ACM invested project support and event delivery to ensure venue activity meets relevant organisation targets and support for event delivery is of high standard and attracts repeat business.

About the Position

The primary purpose of this role is to provide key event administrative, and Primary Purpose event delivery support to the Music Bowl team.

Internal Presenter Services, Food and Beverage, Finance, Production, Ticketing, Key Relationships Facilities, Visitor Experience and Marketing teams, casual site staff External Key contacts from presenters, artists, promoters and producers

Salary Classification Band 3.1

Financial delegation As per financial delegations policy.

Key Criteria

Relevant professional or tertiary qualification in arts or general management, or Qualifications equivalent professional experience in the entertainment industry, event or venue management.  Ability to deliver a high level of customer service with a pro-active approach to problem-solving.  Experience in the successful delivery of event operations, particularly outdoor events  Proven experience working with and directing work groups, including production staff and external contractors Experience  Experience interpreting and implementing OH&S regulations  Demonstrated conflict and operational issue resolution skills  Experience providing departmental administrative support  Experience using an integrated Events Management system  Intermediate skills in the use of the MS Office suite

 Certificate IV OHS Desirable  Elevated Work Platform license  Forklift license  General office work with a strong emphasis on computer usage and occasional site work including outdoor locations Other (ie legal  Required on site for event delivery which includes out of business hours or physical)  The position will require occasional manual tasks associated with the management of the venue

Accountabilities

 Oversee and coordinate set up of Sidney Myer Music Bowl events  Contribute to the successful delivery of key strategies of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl to ensure ongoing successful events and utilisation  Conduct pre and post event checks, recommending most appropriate rectification works when required.  Supervise and direct site staff in event specific set up and pack down.  Provide onsite delivery support to hirers and other external stakeholders  Provide day to day administrative support for the Sidney Myer Music Bowl team  Implement and follow operational plans, policies and procedures in the delivery of events at the SMMB  Review and report on Sidney Myer Music Bowl events, identifying any issues.

Decision Making

 Under the broad direction of the Manager, Sidney Myer Music Bowl, the incumbent will be required to make decisions on day to day administrative requests and challenges from the rest of the business and escalate issues appropriately to the appropriate team member within the SMMB team.  The incumbent will be required to balance the often competing enquiries and immediate demands of internal and external stakeholders. The role represents the interests of Arts Centre Melbourne in managing relationships with presenters.  A low level of operating autonomy is required.
