But don’t take our word for it. Look what previous tour attendees said after attending the tour! “The British Open Tour was described as the "Bucket List" of golf experiences which was what drew my attention in the first place. The golf courses lived up to my expectations and more. Despite my advancing years and ever growing handicap, I never imagined how nervous I would be as I prepared to hit a drive on the 1st tee of The Old Course at St Andrews. Every course was different and magnificent in its own way. My list of golfing memories from this trip would fill a book but my most lasting memory will be the new friends that my wife and I met on the tour.. What a great experience - you've got to do it at least once!” Gregory Bloomfield The thing that stood out for me from the tour was that the organisation was outstanding. Things happened when they were meant to happen and I can't recall an instance when there was an administrative shortcoming on the tour. That gives you a lot of confidence in the tour being a success. Add to that, nice accommodation and you have the basis of a most enjoyable tour. The golf courses were every bit as iconic as we had hoped they would be and to have the opportunity to play them was a unique experience. To witness the famous holes that we have heard about over the years, such as the "Postage stamp" at Royal Troon, the final hole at Carnoustie where John Vanderveldt had his famous 'brain snap' in the burn that fronts the final hole just brings a new meaning to the pressure the golfers must be under. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 weeks we were away and can now tick off a few of my "Bucket list" items. There's just no other golf course that is even remotely close." Jack Nicklaus "Without a doubt I like it the best of all the Open venues. It's my favourite course in the world." Tiger Woods Thu 14th July 2016 GOLF: KINGSBARNS GOLF LINKS While its golf origins date back to 1793, the multi-award-winning Kingsbarns Golf Links only opened in the summer of 2000. It immediately established itself as one of the world’s must-play links courses – debuting at 46th on Golf Magazine’s Top 100 Worldwide list. Since 2001, Kingsbarns has co-hosted the annual European Tour’s elite Dunhill Links Championship along with the Old Course and Carnoustie. Kingsbarns has become a favourite destination for first-time and returning international and UK golf visitors to St Andrews. This reputation is based on a combination of playability, dramatic seaside location, classic links turf and staff dedicated to personal service. Designed by Kyle Phillips and Mark Parsinen, every hole on this championship standard course offers inspiring views of the North Sea. The course is certainly on most people’s list of favorites and among the top ten courses in the British Isles.
