NON GOLFERS SIGHTSEEING: Ireland’s capital, has fast become one of Europe’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities. The city has always had a reputation as a great historical city, and its strong with world literature and the arts are readily apparent. It certainly has a lot to offer visitors - not least it's diverse attractions. There is a wealth of architectural detail with the medieval core of the city surrounded by elegant Georgian squares. A great way to see Dublin is on foot and a walking tour is planned to see the sights of this fascinating city.

GOLF: Today play the Palmer Course of The . This beautiful parkland course was designed by and hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup with all is attendant drama. The course covers an area of mature woodland to the west of Dublin City to which fourteen lakes have been added.

It’s the Home, Heart & Soul of Guinness. At the Guinness Storehouse you'll discover all there is to know about the world famous beer. 20 JULY, THURSDAY

GOLF: Today play Royal Lytham & St Annes. Nestling between two busy seaside resorts, it is one of the most unique courses in the rotation of the British Open. It is a links in every sense of the word, with sandy soil and the wind blowing in from the Irish Sea. Open to the elements, the trees on the course permanently lean sideways, with the wind often proving a formidable competitor in the homeward five holes of the course.

NON GOLFERS SIGHTSEEING: Enjoy a visit to Liverpool highlighted by a tour of the Anglican Cathedral, the largest in the whole of the and the fifth largest in the world. Find out how it managed to survive two World Wars along with periods of recession and great hardship to become a tribute to the dedication of a great many people and their skills. The foundation stone was laid by King Edward VII in 1904, the completion of the building was marked by a service of thanksgiving and dedication in October 1978, attended by Queen Elizabeth II. The story is an amazing journey reflecting just how important the Cathedral is to the heart and the life of this internationally acclaimed city.

GOLF: Today play Royal Liverpool. Royal Liverpool lies at the very heart of the history and development of golf in Britain. Built in 1869, it is the 2nd oldest of all the English seaside courses. Many of the great events in the have their origins at including the first British Amateur in 1885 and in 1921 a match between the USA & Great Brtain which we know as the Walker Cup. It was at Hoylake that won and the 2nd leg of his famous “”.

SIGHTSEEING: Non-Golfers will have the opportunity to visit historic Chester, founded as a "castrum" or Roman fort in AD 79. Thanks to the Romans Chester is famous for its city walls, which are the most complete in Britain measuring nearly 2 miles as they encircle the bounds of the medieval city. Much of the architecture of central Chester looks medieval and some of it is but the greatest part of it, including most of the black-and-white buildings, is Victorian. Chester is best explored on foot through the unique half-timbered galleried streets.

22 JULY, SATURDAY

Today attend the third round of The 146th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale

It is currently the number one course in England and consistently ranked highly in the Top 100 courses in the world. The course has been the stage for many great golf championships including the Walker Cup, the , the Ryder Cup. On nine occasions now it has hosted The Open Championship, most recently in 2008 when Padraig Harrington won the . The ever present wind, whistling down the fairways when it comes from the sea, adds to the challenge. Each hole runs through a landscape of high dunes, the fairways are flat and fair and from the there is generally a clear view of the task ahead.
