To optimise crop yield, the cocoa trees require spraying with neonicotinoid insecticides (Imidacloprid, Thiacloprid Acetamiprid and Thiamethoxam). It is proposed that rainwater runoff from the treated area may pollute the Owena River and that these pesticides may thereby enter the human food chain via six species of fish (Clarias gariepinus, Clarias anguillaris, Sarotherodon galilaeus, Parachanna obscura, Oreochromis niloticus and Gymnarchus niloticus) which are cultured in the river mostly for local consumption. -

SSRG International Journal of Veterinary Science (SSRG-IJVS) – volume 1 Issue1 May to Aug 2015 Antiseptic Movement of Lactic Acid Microbes (LAM) Beside Substantial Fish Infectious agent 1Dr.C.Rajesh sharma, 2D.Thevakar 1Professor, 2Student Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Histology, Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University, Palampur Himachal Pradesh Abstract: Fifty (50) Mango tilapia (Sarotherodon galilaeus) and 50 Cyprinus carpio (European carp) were screened for lactic acid microbes (LAM) using detailed broadcasting. The antiseptic movement of LAM was appraised against Streptococcus (spherical Gram-positive bacteria belonging to the phylum Firmicutes). The results designated that the improved LAM isolates from intestine of Mango tilapia and Cyprinus carpio were 16 (32%) and 6 (12%), separately. LAM are at its essential Lactobacillus, Leuconostoc, Pediococcus, Lactococcus, and Streptococcus, as well as the more exterior Aerococcus, Carnobacterium, Enterococcus, Oenococcus, Sporolactobacillus, Tetragenococcus, Vagococcus, and Weissella. LAM is catalase negative. They contain of the organelles of an unassuming bacterial structure. Together with its indigenous congener O. variabilis, it was displaced from Lakes Victoria and Kyoga of LVR and was found to survive as isolated small populations within the peripheral minor lakes and reservoirs around the two lakes. Displacement of the two LVR indigenous tilapiines was thought to be principally driven by changed lake environment and predation by the introduced Nile perch, but also competition and genetic swamping by the closely related introduced and comparatively more ecologically versatile tilapine species. In a study carried out in the LVR between 1993 and 2003, micro satellites and RAPD markers were used to analyse the remnant populations so as to establish the population structure and extant genetic diversity of O. esculentus. Analyses indicated that the surviving O. esculentus retained a high proportion of genetic diversity with high differentiation between units an indication of genetic exchange between indigenous and introduced Nile tilapia where the two forms co-existed. -

I understood that some are already vaccinated. For the rest I hope we all manage to stay safe and healthy until it is our turn. This year we are now much faster than in previous years to get manuscripts online. We are hard working with Lesley to remove all the backlog to the point when we will be able to upload each manuscript on the date the proofprint has been accepted by the authors. You may be well aware that the IUCN OSG Bulletin, via me, became a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) some years ago. As part of this, I sometimes use anti-plagiarism software to check manuscripts before sending them out for review. Another aspect is that authors submitting manuscripts should carefully consider the list of authors as there are strict rules on how to add an additional author after the original submission, which creates a lot of work for me and them. I want to use the opportunity to ask all authors to carefully double check their reference, and the list of references. It is so much work for Lesley to sort this out and then, especially, find the missing references.
