PITTSBURGH SECTION PITTSBURGH

S E C T I O N N E W S L E T T E R APRIL 2012

NOTE: Our April meeting will be held on May 8, 2012, due to Ken Henderson’s availability.

PROGRAM: Our speaker, Ken Henderson, has worked in the engine oil lubricant industry for the last 40 years and is the current chairman of the ASTM Committee D02.

In his presentation he will give us his opinion of the API engine oil classification system and the effects of the General Motors requirement for the long drain oils, Dexas 1 and 2. Most of the oil majors have now added the extra oil quality tests to qualify their oils to meet those of Dexas 1 and 2.

This will be your chance to ask any questions you have about engine oils and oil drain periods from an expert in the field.
