Jaico Publishing House, Delhi, India. Socover. Book Condition: New. Ancient texts reveal that Jesus spent seventeen years in the Orient. They say that from age 13 to age 29 he was both student and teacher. The events of his pilgrimage from Jerusalem to India were recorded by Buddhist historians. To this day he is known and loved throughout the East as Saint Issa. For the first time Elizabeth Clare Prophet brings together the testimony of four eyewitnesses of these remarkable documents. With the thoroughness of a determined disciple turned detective she tells the intriguing story of the international controversy that arose when the manuscripts were first discovered in 1887 by Nicolas Notovitch how experts proved they did not exist, only to have them rediscovered in this century by Swami Abhedananda, Professor Nicholas Roerich, and Mme Elisabeth Caspari. Now you can read in one volume the chronicles and legends of what Jesus did and said in India, Nepal, Ladakh, and Tibet prior to his Palestinian mission and the heartwarming personal accounts of those who made the trek to the Himalayas and brought back the most revolutionary message of our time.Printed Pages: 356 with DVD. Though the book is newly published you can tell it's written in the 1800s, but not so much that it's hard to follow. This book is about a mans journey in India to find the secret Hindu beliefs and sites. I am Christian practicing Hindu and this book is a great way to help tie both practices together! It's extremely easy to follow along and though a shorter book it's full of so much knowledge.I did purchase this at full retail price!2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. • THE LOST YEARS of JESUS Analysis of Eyewitness Accounts of Travelers Who Have Made the Trek to Himis
THE LOST YEARS OFJESUS Elizabeth Clare Prophet Documentary evidence of Jesus'17-year journey to the East SUMMIT UNIVERSITY PRESS® . .Your Jesus was here." THE GOSPELS record Jesus age twelve in the temple. Then about age thirty at the river Jordan. That leaves approximately seventeen years un- accounted for. During those so-called lost years, the child "increased in wisdom and stature," as Luke wrote. But was it in the carpenter shop at Nazareth? According to ancient Tibetan manuscripts, Jesus secretly withdrew from the home of Mary and Joseph at age thirteen. Young "Issa" joined a merchant caravan. Destination: India and the Himalayas. At Juggernaut, "the white priests of Brahma made him a joyous welcome. They taught him to read and understand the Vedas, to cure by aid of prayer, to teach, to explain the holy scriptures to the people, and to drive out evil spirits from the bodies of men." • Buddhist scholars documented "The Life of Saint Issa" two thousand years ago. • Nicolas Notovitch discovered the long- lost document in 1887 at the Himis monastery in Ladakh. • Swami Abhedananda published a Bengali translation of the Himis manuscript in 1929. • Nicholas Roerich quoted the same verses in a 1929 travel diary of his Asian expedition. • And in 1939, a beaming lama at Himis presented a set of parchments to Elisabeth Caspari with the words: "These books say your Jesus was here!" Now you can read the controversial stories of these travelers together with the original Bud- dhist scriptures on the most important events that shaped the life and work of the Saviour Jesus Christ.

  • Holger Kersten: "It Is Simply of Vital Importance to Find Again the Path To
Holger Kersten: "It is simply of vital importance to find again the path to the sources, to the eternal and central truths of Christ's message, which has been shaken almost beyond recognition by the profane ambitions of more or less secular institutions arrogating to themselves a religious authority. This is an attempt to open a way to a new future, firmly founded in the true spiritual and religious sources of the past". Thus begins Holger Kersten's book "Jesus Lived in India". This German book is a thorough, methodical and authoritative examination of the evidence of Christ's life beyond the Middle East before the Crucifixion and in India and elsewhere after it. This article is a summary of Kersten's exhaustive research into Christ's travels after the Crucifixion, his arrival in India with the Mother Mary and finally his death and entombment in Kashmir. Kersten notes the many parallels of Christ's teachings with other religious and cultural traditions and suggests that at least some of these figures may have been one and the same personality. It is not possible, Kersten asserts, to disprove that Christ went to India. The current information documenting Christ's life is restricted to the gospels and the work of Church theologians. One can hardly trust these sources to be objective considering their obvious interest in maintaining the authority of their Church and its grip on the masses. The Russian scholar, Nicolai Notovich, was the first to suggest that Christ may have gone to India. In 1887, Notovich, a Russian scholar and Orientalist, arrived in Kashmir during one of several journeys to the Orient.

  • The Construction of the Ahmadiyya Identity
a?il w a n / nV From Sufism to Ahmadiyyat The presence of Jama‘at-i Ahmadiyya has reinvigorated the debate on Islamic orthodoxy in South Asia’s Muslim mainstream. Assessing Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s career has been made difficult by the polarized nature of the questions surrounding his reputation which oscillates between messianic saviour and antichrist, where one extreme represents pristine orthodoxy and the other a perverse infidelity beyond the pale of Islam. The pre-eminence of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad over his disciples, the esoteric ambiguity of his spiritual claims, the emphasis he placed on internal and external reform, and the exclusivity of his early followers are indicative of a medieval Sufi order. The advent of modernity, however, with the community’s lack of the isolation and the politics of colonial subjugation, influenced and shaped the development of an unexpected Ahmadi identity. The Ahmadi identity is not wholly based on Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s controversial claims, but also a result of the socio-political context of the early twentieth century South Asian environment from which it emerged. British rule in India initiated a reassessment of Muslim institutions and an evaluation of Muslim political autonomy leading up to the partition. Jama4at-i Ahmadiyya’s involvement in major political crises such as the conflict in Kashmir, the partition itself, and the Punjab disturbances of 1953 gradually led to the politicization Ahmadi Islam. As the notion of Ahmadiyyat became increasingly politicized the formation of the Ahmadi identity evolved, and the dichotomy between Ahmadiyyat and Islam widened. This thesis traces the development of the Ahmadi identity from its Sufi style beginnings to a formalized construct that has the potential to shed its Islamic origins altogether.

  • Anthroposophy of Yoga
Anthroposophy of Yoga By Carol Ka Wai Chan Final Version, Jan 2014 1 The Spiritual Science of Yoga This paper shares an understanding of the relationship between yoga and Anthroposophy from a yogic oriental perspective with the approach that the yoga tradition is evolving, and has significance for today’s need in spirituality and science. With references to Steiner’s lectures the “Anthroposophy of Yoga” intends to bridge the gap of understanding and bring new ideas and clarifications on yoga as presented in Steiner's teachings. Eastern cultures have changed tremendously throughout the last decade with rapid industrialisation including westernisation that has influenced most Eastern traditions. The science of yoga has been misinterpreted with a loss of its true knowledge and practices resulting in a superficial use as physical exercise or merely an art of meditation in both East and West. Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Anthroposophy, attempted to synthesise science and spirituality, hence called “Spiritual Science”, to provide a connection between the cognitive path of Western philosophy and the inner spiritual needs of the human being. The term “Anthroposophy” means “human wisdom” (knowledge of the human being) which extends the clarity of the scientific method to phenomena of human soul-life and to spiritual experiences (30). Hence, this paper “Anthroposophy of Yoga” conveys the spiritual science of human beings through yoga, and aims to open a discussion as to why yoga is in fact not divisible from Anthroposophy. An important aspect to convey is that Steiner postulated that the world is essentially an indivisible unity, which is the same as the highest yoga philosophy (i.e.

The Lost Years of Jesus: The Life of Saint Issa Translation by Notovitch Jesus approaching Ladakh as a youth Oil painting by J. Michael Spooner The Best of the Sons of Men • Ancient scrolls reveal that Jesus spent seventeen years in India and Tibet • From age thirteen to age twenty-nine, he was both a student and teacher of Buddhist and Hindu holy men • The story of his journey from Jerusalem to Benares was recorded by Brahman historians • Today they still know him and love him as St. Issa. Their 'buddha' In 1894 Nicolas Notovitch published a book called The Unknown Life of Christ . He was a Russian doctor who journeyed extensively throughout Afghanistan, India, and Tibet. Notovitch journeyed through the lovely passes of Bolan, over the Punjab, down into the arid rocky land of Ladak, and into the majestic Vale of Kashmir of the Himalayas. During one of his jouneys he was visiting Leh, the capital of Ladak, near where the buddhist convent Himis is. He had an accident that resulted in his leg being broken. This gave him the 1 unscheduled opportunity to stay awhile at the Himis convent. Notovitch learned, while he was there, that there existed ancient records of the life of Jesus Christ. In the course of his visit at the great convent, he located a Tibetan translation of the legend and carefully noted in his carnet de voyage over two hundred verses from the curious document known as "The Life of St. Issa." He was shown two large yellowed volumes containing the biography of St.
