I am displeased that this CD reminds me of this wretched truth. Has it been 16 years since this first rocked my world? I was supposed to see these guys with Atheist and Cannibal Corpse once, but the club didn't let in anyone under eighteen at the time so I could not go. Also it was in a bad neighborhood, Velociraptors and Tyrannosaurus Rex on every block. Most of them were on drugs to boot. Luckily the day of the drug crazed dinosaur has passed and we are threatened only by a lot of other things. Enough of my senile recollections, let the metal geezer get this review out before Alzheimer's robs me of the ability to know what in the hell I'm talking about. I loved this album back in the day, although I don't listen to a ton anymore. It is however an interesting contrast to the last two albums Gorguts did. Before every French-Canadian became a god with a musical instrument or a hockey stick. It used to be they only did hockey. This might be the album where that really started to change, although Voivod had been working the province for quite some time. This was a decent record, even at the time. This is more mid-paced to slow as opposed to the faster stuff I prefer.

Legendarna płyta po dziś dzień uchodzi za kamień milowy w historii dokonań ciężkiej muzyki metalowej we wschodniej Europie i jest powszechnie uważana przez krytyków i fanów za najlepszą i najważniejszą heavy metalową produkcję lat 80-tych w Polsce.     QUO VADIS Artist Biography The year 2004 brings a new chapter to the history of QUO VADIS. The long awaited follow-up to the albums Day Into Night (2000) and “Forever...” (1996) demonstrates mature songwriting by a band constantly pushing the limits. Just as with the release of previous albums, both of which have been critically acclaimed – nominated as “Best new Canadian Talent” by the 2001 Canadian Music Network Awards, QUO VADIS refused to simply clone the sounds and ideas that brought previous efforts their recognition. Instead their new offering, like it’s predecessors, is an evolution, a step forward and a challenge to the status quo. Musically, the album will impress both the fans of Death and Prog metal. The band manages to balance odd time signatures and tempo changes with an exceptional sense of melody and power – an equilibrium achievable only by the combination of Frydrychowicz and Bercier’s playing styles. DiGiorgio’s fretless meanderings compliment the rhythm section with counter melodies not heard since DEATH’s Individual Thought Patterns. Imposing vocals, solos, as well as the tasteful use of piano, cellos and choirs complete the offering for an unforgettable experience. This uncompromising attitude has pushed QUO VADIS to part ways with long time members, Arie Itman and Remy Beauchamp, and to enlist a full time vocalist Stephane Paré as well as Steve DiGiorgio, Roxanne Constantin and William Seghers to complete the album lineup. Mixed and mastered at Morrisound Studios in Tampa Florida by Jim Morris this album will be unlike any other release of 2004. LIVE PERFORMANCES With a new live lineup QUO VADIS has criss-crossed the eastern and central Canada in the 5 months prior to the November album release, playing sold out shows and covering close to 10,000 km.
