Since tHat time, tHe Council has grown to now serve sixteen counties in the CSRA: Aiken, Barnwell, Burke, Columbia, Edgefield, Emanuel, Glascock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McCormick, McDuffie, RicHmond, Taliaferro, Warren, and Wilkes. WHAT IS THE GEORGIA-CAROLINA COUNCIL? For over 100 years, Scouting Has instilled in young people the virtues of Honor, respect, cHaracter, Healthy living, and citizensHip tHrough tHe principles of tHe Scout OatH and Scout Law. THese affirmations of character Have served as a code of conduct for millions to Be Prepared! And for young people to make etHical and moral cHoices over tHeir lifetimes. THis mission is tHe bedrock of our purpose as we cultivate tHe leaders of tomorrow. The Georgia-Carolina Council is dedicated to improving the lives of local youth by addressing issues related to general education, public HealtH, and quality of life. Scouts in tHe CSRA are directly engaged in programs tHat target environmental conservation and boosting matH and science aptitude.     Summary of Sexual Abuse Claims in Chapter 11 Cases of Boy Scouts of America There are approximately 101,135sexual abuse claims filed. Of those claims, the Tort Claimants’ Committee estimates that there are approximately 83,807 unique claims if the amended and superseded and multiple claims filed on account of the same survivor are removed. The summary of sexual abuse claims below uses the set of 83,807 of claim for purposes of claims summary below.1 The Tort Claimants’ Committee has broken down the sexual abuse claims in various categories for the purpose of disclosing where and when the sexual abuse claims arose and the identity of certain of the parties that are implicated in the alleged sexual abuse. Attached hereto as Exhibit 1 is a chart that shows the sexual abuse claims broken down by the year in which they first arose. Please note that there approximately 10,500 claims did not provide a date for when the sexual abuse occurred. As a result, those claims have not been assigned a year in which the abuse first arose. Attached hereto as Exhibit 2 is a chart that shows the claims broken down by the state or jurisdiction in which they arose. Please note there are approximately 7,186 claims that did not provide a location of abuse. Those claims are reflected by YY or ZZ in the codes used to identify the applicable state or jurisdiction. Those claims have not been assigned a state or other jurisdiction. Attached hereto as Exhibit 3 is a chart that shows the claims broken down by the Local Council implicated in the sexual abuse.

In order to show progress, a unit is counted if it has been contacted at least once by January/February, two times by March/April, three times by May/June, four times by July/August, five times by September/October and six times by November/December. For example, a unit that was not contacted until March will not be counted in January or February, but will count in March, if it receives two contacts that month. At the end of the year a unit needs at least six total contacts to be counted. Contacts are counted by the date they are entered into Commissioner Tools, not by the actual date of the contact or visit. Posts are included in 2017 and beyond; however, Exploring only districts may not be included.

    July 2, 2014 Dear Brother, From August 3rd to August 8th, 2015, the Order of the Arrow will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary by holding the 32nd National Order of the Arrow Conference at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. This event will bring 10,000 Arrowmen from all across America together for a week of fun, fellowship, learning and exciting entertainment. The Order of the Arrow lodge of South Georgia Council is planning to take 30 Withlacoochee Lodge Arrowmen to NOAC and we want you to join us! By attending, you will get the opportunity to experience the pinnacle of Scouting events. A National Order of the Arrow Conference is unlike any other Scouting event. This rich experience will leave a lifetime of memories. The Order of the Arrow holds its national conference about every other year, but this Conference will be the largest in the history of the Order. From learning about the history of our Order, to exciting shows, to excellent leadership and character building sessions, to making new friends from across the nation; this is an excellent way to rekindle your passion for Scouting.
