Claressa Shields Meteoric Rise to Stardom in Professional Boxing Another Chapter in Her Historic Journey CLARESSA SHIELDS METEORIC RISE TO STARDOM IN PROFESSIONAL BOXING ANOTHER CHAPTER IN HER HISTORIC JOURNEY DETROIT (July 25, 2017) – On Friday, August 4, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Claressa “T-Rex” Shields will make another significant stop on her historic journey through the sport of boxing. In the 10-round main event of Salita Promotions’ “BATTLE OF THE BEST” event at MGM Grand Detroit and televised live on ShoBox: The New Generation (10;30 p.m. ET/PT) Shields (3-0, 1 KO) will challenge for her first world title in just her fourth fight against reigning WBC Super Middleweight World Champion Nikki Adler (16-0, 9 KOs) of Germany. Already considered a national treasure and award-winning female role model, Shields’ boldly quick world-title quest will catapult her to superstar status and into boxing history once again. By comparison to other female boxing stars from past and present, Shields is way ahead of the curve for a typical rise through the ranks: Laila Ali: Won IBA Super Middleweight title in her 12th pro fight Christy Martin: Won WBC Jr Welterweight title in her 21st pro fight Lucia Rijker: Won WIBF Super Lightweight title in her 9th pro fight Regina Halmich: Won IBF Flyweight title in her 10th pro fight Ann Wolfe: Won IFBA Jr Middleweight title in her 10th pro fight Cecelia Braekhus: Won WBC Welterweight title in her 11th pro fight Christina Hammer: Won WBO Middleweight title in her 8th pro fight Holly Holm: Won IBA Super Lightweight title in her 11th pro fight The historical significance of this fight is not lost on the 22-year-old Flint, Michigan native. “It’s a great honor to be mentioned in the same sentence as Lucia Rijker, Christy Martin, Laila Ali and Ann Wolfe, among others,” said Shields. “I want to lift boxing to new heights and help open doors for women in boxing. August 4 against Nikki Adler, and the opportunity to win a world title in just her fourth pro fight, is an important ‘first’ in what will be a career of game- changing firsts for Claressa Shields.” In the night’s televised co-main, junior welterweight KO artist Bakhtiyar “Bakha Bullet” Eyubov (13-0, 11 KOs) will face undefeated prospect Sonny “Pretty Boi” Fredrickson (17-0, 11 KOs) over 10-rounds and to open the telecast, world-ranked super bantamweight Vladimir Tikhonov (16-0, 9 KOs) of Russia will face Texas slugger Jesse Angel Hernandez (8-1, 6 KOs) over eight rounds. I am tinkering with the format for Saturdays Circuit Training and MMA class. From now on the new Chinese Wrestling Moves will be introduced on Thursday nights and then the reinforcement of those moves will be done on Saturday along with Open Grappling and also at the end of every Kung Fu Kickboxing Class till the following Thursday. We will use the Ontario Jiu Jitsu Point System to score Saturdays Open Grappling so we can get used to the point system before 2010 grappling competitions. Chinese Wrestling techniques that are not legal in Jiu Jitsu and Grappling will still be taught because they are effective self defense - we just have to remember what is legal in competition! LOL! The Wednesday classes at 12:00 pm and 8:00 pm have been designated as full equipment training classes.

Auch Kinder, die unter diversen anderen schweren Erkrankungen leiden, wie Krebs, Mukoviszidose oder Diabetes, drohen ebenso an Herzproblemen zu erkranken. Große Aufgaben stehen vor uns. Deutschlandweit. Aber diesen stellen wir uns gerne mit der Zuversicht, die uns unsere Unterstützer und Freunde geben.     Name: Claressa Shields Sport: Boxing Biography: Seventeen-year-old Claressa Shields enjoyed an eventful summer prior to starting her senior year in high school. The Flint Northwestern High School senior made history simply advancing to the London Games, the first-ever in the sport of women’s boxing. The event was a culmination of years of work for she and her lifetime trainer, Jason Crutchfield, but just earning a berth at the Olympic Games wasn’t enough for this teenager. She wanted nothing but gold and with three strong wins in London, she accomplished her goal. In 2012, Claressa was titled as 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist, 2012 Women’s Continental Champion, and 2012 U.S. Team Trials Champion and Outstanding Boxer Shields took up boxing as an 11-year-old after hearing her father talk about Laila Ali. She initially thought he wanted her to box but quickly learned after asking for his permission that he wasn’t exactly keen on the idea. He eventually came around after a family vote with Shields’ stepmother, and she’s been a force to reckon with ever since. A proud Flint native, Shields wanted badly to bring something positive to her hometown, which hasn’t had much to celebrate recently. She understands the importance of being a role model to the young people in her community and has been overwhelmed by the unbelievable outpouring of support she has received since returning from London with her gold medal. She was welcomed at the airport by over 500 well-wishers and can’t go anywhere in her hometown without being stopped for photos and autographs and she refuses to disappoint anyone.
