Spring in Washington DC With Travel Leaders - Group Experiences April 23 – 26, 2020 Price: Quad Occupancy - $1,399/person | Triple Occupancy - $1,455/person Double Occupancy - $1,560/person | Single Occupancy - $1,880/person Important Dates: March 8, 2020: Registration Deadline for full package, including airfare. Full trip balance is due. Non-refundable. After March 8, 2020: Trip registration for those purchasing “Land-only” (either booking individual flights with a Travel Leaders agent or on their own) will remain open until all seats are filled. Land-only Requests: Land-only packages are available for those wishing to change their flight schedule, upgrade or utilize points, as this are not allowed on group air contracts. Passenger will receive a $300 refund from the package price. Passenger is responsible to book airport-hotel transfers with a Travel Leaders agent or on their own. Space is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Itinerary is subject to change. If minimum number of 20 passengers is not met by March 8, trip may be cancelled by Travel Leaders and all money paid will be refunded ITINERARY DETAILS Day 1 – April 23: Fly to Washington DC Meet the group at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport for our group flight to Baltimore/Washington Airport. Our Tour Manager will be on hand to assist with check-in. Thursday, April 23, 2020 Southwest Airlines #1491: Depart – Minneapolis (MSP) - 5:25 AM Arrive - Baltimore (BWI) - 8:40 AM Arrive in Baltimore. Collected luggage and board the motor coach for transfer to our hotel. We will store our luggage at the hotel until check-in time later this afternoon. Meet with the rest of the group for lunch (included). We will go over a few trip details – and set everyone free to explore on your own. There are plenty of options within walking distance (or a short taxi ride, if you prefer): Around DC • United States Holocaust Memorial Museum – FREE • National Gallery of Art – FREE • National Archives Museum – FREE • Library of Congress • Newseum - $25 • National Building Museum - $10 • International Spy Museum - $25 Dinner is on your own this evening. There are plenty of very nice restaurants in close proximity to the hotel. Staff will be on hand to advise. Meals included: Lunch | Overnight: Churchill Hotel near Embassy Row Day 2 – April 24: Guided tour of Washington DC and Arlington Breakfast at the hotel is included daily. Load the motor coach and depart for a full day of seeing and learning about Washington DC. A professional local guide will join us today as we visit all of the most iconic sites and monuments of the city such as: • Lincoln Memorial • Thomas Jefferson Memorial • Vietnam Veterans & Korean War Veterans Memorials • The Tidal Basin • Washington National Cathedral • Arlington Cemetery – Tomb of the Unknown & Kennedy Graves • National WWII Memorial • The White House & Washington Monument, National Mall • US Capitol & the Library of Congress • Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Meals included: Breakfast | Overnight: Churchill Hotel near Embassy Row Day 3 – April 25: The Smithsonian at Leisure Breakfast at the hotel is included daily. Smithsonian Institute The group will transfer to the world-renowned Smithsonian Institute for a full day of exploring this national treasure on your own. There are many choices of museums to visit, so it is highly recommended that one does a bit of research in advance to determine what they most want to see and do: • Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum • Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History • Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture • National Portrait Gallery & the Smithsonian American Art Museum • Smithsonian’s National Zoo & Conservation Biology There are many lunch options available at the museums or nearby. The group will meet at a designated location at the end of the day to transfer back to the hotel. Group Farewell Dinner at District ChopHouse & Brewery Transfer to the ChopHouse, known as “Where the 40’s are still fabulous”, for a warm gathering of new friends. On the menu tonight will be DC’s finest steaks, chops and seafood.
