New On Video & DVD Obsessed Hell hath no fury like an office temp scorned in director Stephen Shill's domestic thriller Obsessed. Executive-produced by entertainment megastar Beyonce Knowles, the film stars Knowles as Sharon, a one-time temp who has become a dutiful wife to investment brokerage hot-shot Derek (Idris Elba of The Wire), as well as the mother to their son. Further temp-tation arrives in the form of Lisa (Ali Larter of Heroes), who sets her blonde ambitions on Derek from day one. Sharon is wary but Derek remains a model of marital fidelity in the face of Lisa's repeated flirtations- -inappropriate incidents that he avoids telling Sharon about. But when Derek rejects Lisa's sexual advances at the company Christmas party, her downward spiral of roman- tic obsession leads her to pursue Derek on a corporate retreat and attempt suicide in his hotel room. Promptly sent into spousal exile, Derek must win back Sharon's trust while the two attempt to put Lisa's psychotic episode behind them. Lisa is one temp who's not easily reassigned, though, and her increasingly brazen intrusions into Derek and Sharon's life auger an inevitable reckoning between the would-be seducer and wife. First-time film director Shill gets a wonderfully wicked performance from Larter, while Knowles shows off her claws in the film's climactic showdown. Taking its place alongside such films as Fatal Attraction and Disclosure, Obsessed is a rollicking reminder that all's fair in love and stalking. Sony NCIS 6th Season Taking viewers behind the sealed doors of the military, NCIS follows the workings of investigators at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Led by the wise Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), a crack investigator with no qualms about bending the rules to find his answers, the team takes on cases involving terrorism, murder, espionage, and international arms-smuggling. Gibbs is aided by homicide detective Anthony Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly), forensic scientist Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette), medical examiner Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum), computer expert Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), and department head Jennifer Shepard (Lauren Holly). This collection presents the show's sixth season Paramount/CBS Gigantic Brian Weathersby (Paul Dano) isn’t your average 28-year-old man. He sleepily works as a mattress salesman while he tries to fulfill his lifelong dream of adopting a Chinese baby. But Brian’s somnambulist state is interrupted by the arrival of Harriet Lolly (Zooey Deschanel), who prefers going by the name "Happy." She stops by the mattress store after her rich, bullying father (John Goodman) buys the most expensive bed on the salesroom floor, and she immediately draws Brian into her world. A romance with Happy beckons, but Brian is close to achieving his goal. Now if he could only avoid the violent attacks of the crazy homeless man who is stalking him.... Like many small black comedies, Gigantic is driven by its characters, an indie-rock soundtrack, and some seemingly random elements that set it apart from its studio counterparts. But Gigantic’s tiny status doesn’t mean that it is lacking in the casting department. Little Miss Sunshine and There Will Be Blood have demonstrated Dano’s range, and he plays a fully formed character here. Deschanel (Yes Man) again plays a vibrant, quirky love interest that will be familiar to viewers of indie films like Garden State and her own work in Weeds and Flakes. But the prize should really go to Goodman, who adds authenticity to his character’s strangeness, remaining likable even as he threatens the lives of Brian’s parents. Viverndi Entertainment Californication Season 2 David Duchovny (The X-Files) returns to the small screen as Hank Moody, a hangdog novelist on the skids in L.A. When not hopping into the sack with any woman who bats her eyes at him, Hank struggles to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend, Karen (Natascha McElhone), and their young daughter, Becca (Madeleine Martin). A lingering case of writer's block--due to the abysmal big-screen adaptation of his novel--and the entrance of a new man in Karen's life don’t help matters any. But while chain-smoking and living inside a whiskey bottle, Hank makes a few clumsy steps toward putting his life back on track. With a permanent five o'clock shadow and charmingly slurred speech, Duchovny is perfect as a loveable loser who never quite loses the audience's sympathy. This second season finds Hank getting back together with Karen, although their reconciliation is quickly put into jeopardy by the usual cause: an over-imbibed Hank. Image New On Video & DVD 90210 First Season The series that redefined the primetime teen drama back in the 1990s gets a modern makeover in this spin-off series centering on a family attempting to adjust to life in Beverly Hills after relocating from the Midwest to California and seeing their lives change in ways they never anticipated. Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes) is a teenage girl with a big heart and a passion for the theater, and her brother, Dixon (Tristan Wilds), is a talented athlete and gifted scholar who was adopted by Annie's parents after living with the family as a foster child. Their father, Harry (Rob Estes), and mother, Debbie (Lori Loughlin), decided to move their family from Kansas to Beverly Hills in order to be closer to Harry's elderly mother, Tabitha (Jessica Walter), a former television star who spent her fair share of time at the Betty Ford Clinic. Of course, adjusting to life at a new high school is never easy when you're a teenager, though Annie and Dixon's transition is made especially awkward due to the fact that their father has accepted a position as the new school principal. It's going to take a little time for the two West Beverly Hills High newcomers to identify the cliques and connect with classmates, who include bratty rich girl Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), popular jock Ethan (Dustin Milligan), ambitious student journalist Navid (Michael Steger), and rebellious broadcaster Silver (Jessica Stroup). Perhaps with a little help from such staff members as hip teacher Ryan Matthews (Ryan Eggold) and helpful guidance counselor Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth)--not to mention Kelly's longtime friend Donna Martin (Tori Spelling), the owner of a popular Beverly Hills boutique--Annie and Dixon will make some lasting friendships while finding their way though the hallowed halls of California's most exclusive high school. Paramount/CBS Bob The Builder: Call in the Crew Featuring five episodes, this edition of the animated series includes a range of new tasks, from repairing a gate to aiding a family of ducks, with Bob and his crew using teamwork, determination and a positive approach to get the jobs done right.
