A CAROL SERVICE ON MONDAY DECEMBER 18TH AT 7.00PM

ALL WILL BE VERY WELCOME.

The Increased Threat to Our Coastline!

As you may know, Water have applied to armour the outfall pipe at the water treatment works on Road. If they go ahead with these plans this will block the sediment flow to our cliffs which will bring about increased erosion to our coast, particu- larly the cliffs to the south of the outfall pipe all the way to the village.

There are other methods to protect the pipe which would not cause the extra erosion— these have been suggested to Yorkshire Water but have been refused. If you would like a chance to ask questions to them/ make your point known, they are holding an Open Meet- ing on Tuesday 5th December at Hollym Village Hall between 4.30pm and 7pm. Plans for the new water treatment plant to the south of Hollym will also be available to view.

Please come along and let’s see if we can get some definitive answers from Yorkshire Wa- ter as we have previously had mixed messages and misinformation! This threat affects all villagers to some degree but especially those who are nearer the cliff edge and landowners.

MESSAGE TO DOG OWNERS!! Please remember if you take your dog down the Carriage Drive, Hooks Lane, Cliff Top and Wilkin’s track down Patrington Road, that much of this is private property. The landowners do not mind dogs being exercised in these places but ask if the owners would please PICK UP THEIR DOGS’ MESS!!! Thank you for your co-operation. Please pass this message on to any non villagers you may see in these places.
