Art Goes West By Mrs. Lora Feely The Visual Arts team ventured to L.A. with forty art students the first week of November to visit the LACMA, Broad, and MOCA museums. At the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) the group had a docent lead tour of Thomas Joshua Cooper: The World’s Edge photography exhibit. Students engaged in a responsive dialogue with their small groups and moved through the exhibit sketching, conversing, and debating about the large scale photographs. After the tour, students discovered other artwork including Richard Serra, Bettye Saar, and Julie Mehretu. The next stop was the Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum which houses many infamous modern artworks by Jeff Koons, Jean Michel Basquiat, Takashi Murakami, Andy Warhol, and Roy Lichtenstein. continued, page 8 WWW.BISHOPGORMAN.ORG Finance Department Holiday Hours The Finance Office will be CLOSED during the Christmas holiday break.
