Briefly About Jelgava ______

Honourable citizens and guests of Jelgava!

Daily life causes one to be watchful, to analyze events and realize the seriousness of the situation, because the lives of our peers in all aspects – economics, the social realm, education – depend on it. In the previous years Jelgava started down a road that we must keep walking – long-term investment programmes for the development of the city infrastructure and the education system, the support of entrepreneurial activity, the provision of social services.

The year has been difficult in all fields. Yet together and united we are a force to drive forward all that is envisioned. A force that will keep firm the foundations of our country, our city and our family!

I invite you to investigate the newest statistical information about Jelgava, thus witnessing a testimony for the fact that our combined efforts have been fruitful.

Andris Rāviņš Chairman of Jelgava City Council
