Abstract Additions, deletions and corrections are made to the Irish checklist of butterflies and moths (Lepidoptera). Elachista biatomella (Stainton, 1848) is added to the Irish list. The total number of confirmed Irish species of Lepidoptera now stands at 1480. Key words: Lepidoptera, additions, deletions, corrections, Irish list, Elachista biatomella Introduction Bond, Nash and O’Connor (2006) provided a checklist of the Irish Lepidoptera. Since its publication, many new discoveries have been made and are reported here. In addition, several deletions have been made. A concise and updated checklist is provided. The following abbreviations are used in the text: BM(NH) – The Natural History Museum, London; NMINH – National Museum of Ireland, Natural History, Dublin. The total number of confirmed Irish species now stands at 1480, an addition of 68 since Bond et al. (2006). Taxonomic arrangement As a result of recent systematic research, it has been necessary to replace the arrangement familiar to British and Irish Lepidopterists by the Fauna Europaea [FE] system used by Karsholt 60 Bulletin of the Irish Biogeographical Society No. 36 (2012) and Razowski, which is widely used in continental Europe.

A checklist of the Microlepidoptera species recorded in Slovenia is presented. Each entry is accompanied by complete references, and remarks where appropriate. Until now, the data on Microlepidopteran fauna of Slovenia have not been compiled, with the existing information scattered in literature, museums and private collections throughout Europe. The present checklist is based on records extracted from 290 literature sources published from 1763 (Scopoli) to present. In total, 1645 species from 56 families are listed. Keywords: Microlepidoptera, checklist, Slovenia, fauna Izvleček. Specimens ofU. austriacalis and U. rhododendronalis separate into several biogeographical groups. These allopatric groups are not recovered in the analyses of the two nuclear markers wingless and Elongation factor 1-alpha, except for U. austriacalis from the Pyrenees and the French Massif Central. The latter populations are also morphologically distinct and conspecific with Scopula donzelalis Guenée, 1854, which is removed from synonymy and reinstated as Udea donzelalis (Guenée, 1854) stat.

The new subspecies differs from the typical form primarily in the larger size and darker colour. It is compared with specimens from Scandinavia and from Altai. The species is recorded from Central Europe for the first time. Key words: Lepidoptera, Tortricidae, Sparganothini, new subspecies, Austria, Styria. For invertebrates, notified features range from individual species, through assemblages of a specific taxon, to the overall invertebrate assemblage. For a variety of reasons, the invertebrates’ notified features do not always reflect the currently established criteria for selecting such features for site protection and designation purposes. In some cases, citations are based on old records that may now be considered unreliable whilst in others, the records do not demonstrate that the species or assemblages are of sufficient quality to meet the criteria.

The author shows the results of the survey carried out in 2006 on Microlepidoptera in the new part of the Mont Avic Natural Park in the Champorcher upper valley. 148 species were identified, 70 of which had not been count- ed in the previous research project on the historical part of the Park (Chalamy Valley). Among them, 16 are mentioned for the first time in the Aosta Valley, while 2 species are new to Italian wildlife: Caryocolum pullatella (Tengström, 1848) (Gelechiidae) and Hypochalcia dignella (Hübner, 1796) (Pyralidae). General geographical distribution, current knowledge about its presence in Italy and known data about feed plants are given for each species. Key words: Microlepidoptera, new records, Western Alps.

November 2013 In Dankbarkeit meiner Frau Ingrid gewidmet, sie hat mich in das Gebiet gebracht Summary: Butterflies around Bad Mitterndorf in Styria – changes within 20 years of moni- toring. – Bad Mitterndorf is a village in the northwest-corner of Styria. In the last 20 years of field studies it was possible to find 1.172 species of butterflies and moth with the result of 16.270 sampling data. A great problem is the future of bogs and moist meadows because without cultivation these habi- tats would transform into forests. Therefore a habitat-management would be necessary. Many diagrams and comments on special species in this paper illustrate the high diversity of Lepidoptera in this region and many photographs of living specimens in their natural habitat give an idea of the sometimes in- conceivible beauty but also the endangering of species.
