Together with the WKF Karate1 World Cup (WWC) it is a series of world class Karate competitions recognized and supported by the World Karate Federation Its aim is to bring together the best Karate competitors in the world in a series of open championships of unprecedented scale and quality.“ [Bulletin No.2] [09.08.2016] WELCOME / INTRODUCTION Dear friends, the Karate1 Premier League has become a trademark and success story of the WKF. Therefore the German Karate Federation (DKV) is proud to have been with the German Open among the hosts of these worldwide event series right from the beginning. With the Hanseatic City of Hamburg as this year’s host, we have chosen a cosmopolitan city with hanseatic flair and great hospitality. The German Karate Federation (DKV) warmly welcomes all participants from all five continents for the last big testing before the World Championships in Linz and we wish you a successful and unforgettable stay in this historical cosmopolitan city. Wolfgang Weigert President of the German Karate Federation 1 Dear karate enthusiasts On behalf of the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City Hamburg, a warm welcome to Hamburg for the German Open 2016. I was very happy to be invited to be patron of this competition taking place in the Sporthalle Hamburg. I am particularly pleased that the German Open is being held again in Hamburg for the first time since 2008. With about 800 karatekas from around 60 countries participating, we are guaranteed bouts of the highest international standard. It will make the competition one of the highlights of Hamburg’s 2016 sporting calendar. Karate is a fascinating Asian martial art that has been well established in Hamburg for many years, with enthusiasts spanning all age groups. Anyone wanting to pursue karate in Hamburg should have little trouble finding a dojo to suit them. I would like to thank the promoter of the German Open Premier League K1 2016, the World Karate Federation, and the joint organisers, the German Karate Federation and the Hamburger Karate Federation. I wish the contestants every success, the spectators exciting sport, and everybody a memorable time here in Hamburg. Andy Grote Senator for the Interior and Sport of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg 2 Dear Athletes, dear guests, dear friends of KARATE-DÔ With the same words with which all ships entering the Hamburg harbour are hailed, I greet all participants and attendees with a heartfelt “Welcome to Hamburg”. The gate to the free world, the Freie and Hansestadt Hamburg, once again stands wide open to all athletes contesting the international German Karate Championship (IDM)/German Open, as part of the WKF Golden League. I extend my appreciation and a warm greeting to the patron of the event, Senator Andy Grote, President of the ministry of sports and internal affairs of the Freie und Hansestadt Hamburg. The HKV Member-clubs and the executive committee feel deeply honoured by the vote of confidence given them by the German Karate Association DKV e.V. and the Central Association for Karate in the German Olympic Association (DOSB e.V.), in allowing us to co-organize this event. Following the German Championships of 1978, 1986, 1998 and 2006, as well as the IDM of 2008, we proudly present a further first-class international sporting event in Hamburg. With these words I wish all participating Karatekas the best of success, and all guests and friends an exciting insight into this form of KARATE-DO With best wishes Joachim Kraatz 3 ORGANIZER AND CONTACT ORGANIZER: GERMAN KARATE FEDERATION Am Wiesenbusch 15 D-45966 Gladbeck Fon 0049 2043 298830 E-Mail: [email protected] Local Organizer: Hamburger Karate Verband e.V. Januar 2017 in Kraft treten.

  • Top-Start! Buchinger Kämpft in Istanbul Um Bronze
