The holy shrine dedicated to Lord Ayyappa is situated 914 metres above sea level amidst dense forests in the rugged terrains of the Western Ghats. Lord Ayyappa is looked upon as the guardian of mountains and there are several shrines dedicated to him all along the Western Ghats. The festivals here are the Mandala Pooja, Makara Vilakku (December/January) and Vishu Kani (April). The temple is also open for pooja on the first 5 days of every Malayalam month. The vehicles go only up to Pampa and the temple, which is situated 5 km away from Pampa, can be reached only by trekking. The holy shrine dedicated to Lord Ayyappa is situated 914 metres above sea level amidst dense forests in the rugged terrains of the Western Ghats. Lord Ayyappa is looked upon as the guardian of mountains and there are several shrines dedicated to him all along the Western Ghats. The festivals here are the Mandala Pooja, Makara Vilakku (December/January) and Vishu Kani (April). The temple is also open for pooja on the first 5 days of every Malayalam month. The vehicles go only up to Pampa and the temple, which is situated 5 km away from Pampa, can be reached only by trekking. During the festival period there are frequent buses to this place from Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam. Every effort has been taken to estimate the severity of flooding and inundation areas likely to be affected by failure of diversion structure - Gavi. These estimates are based on available primary and secondary data. Every effort has been made to foresee varied emergency possibilities and develop appropriate notification procedures for timely rescue and relief operations. However, implementation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) involves many agencies, who are required to work in a coordinated manner to reduce the consequences of the emergency triggered by the dam site condition. As such we have been preparing Performance Documents of Agriculture Development and FarmersÊ Welfare Department, Forest & Wildlife Department and Water Resources Department since 2013-14. The Documents are prepared and placed before the Legislative Assembly along with other Budget Documents. The preparation of documents is based on the model of the Performance Budget Documents of the Central Government. The exercise generally focuses on the Developmental Schemes (Plan Schemes) and related expenditure with regard to the demands / appropriations and expenditure of the departments concerned. It doesnÊt give importance on routine administrative expenses. It takes care to ensure the figures of Budget Allocation, expenditure, etc included in the documents will conform to those adopted in the Budget Documents and related documents of the Government.
