National Inquiry National Inquiry At their meeting on: 16/10/2008 The following inquiries were held: Stadium/Greyhound: Kinsley Stadium, MAY WEATHER Trainer: Racecourse Executive The racecourse executive of Kinsley Stadium were found in breach of rules 48, 102A and 152(i) & (ii) and professional trainer Mr Steven Carrington was found in breach of rules 48 and 152(i) & (ii) in respect of the circumstances that allowed the greyhound MAY WEATHER to compete in a race at Kinsley Stadium on 7 March 2008 when not qualified to do so, its final qualifying trial not having been run within 21 days prior to its Results: first graded race. The racecourse executive of Kinsley Stadium was not represented at the inquiry and having considered their written explanation together with the circumstances of the case, the Stewards ordered that they be reprimanded and fined the sum of £500. Mr Carrington was not in attendance and having considered his written explanation together with the circumstances of the case, the Stewards ordered that he be cautioned and fined the sum of £250. Rules Concered: 48 152(i) 152(ii) Go to top National Inquiry At their meeting on: 16/10/2008 The following inquiries were held: Stadium/Greyhound: Reading Stadium, BLACK MAX Trainer: Mr S Howard Greyhound trainer Mr Steven Howard was found in breach of rules 152(i) & (ii), 174(i)(a) and 214 in that a urine sample taken from the greyhound BLACK MAX at Reading Stadium on 24 May 2008, was analysed by HFL Sports Science laboratory as containing the drug theophylline; and the administration of any Results: substance that could affect the performance and/or well being of the greyhound. Mr Howard was not in attendance and having considered his written explanation together with the circumstances of the case, the Stewards ordered that he be cautioned and fined the sum of £300. Rules Concered: 152(i) 152(ii) 174(i)(a) 214 Go to top National Inquiry At their meeting on: 16/10/2008 The following inquiries were held: Stadium/Greyhound: Yarmouth Stadium, TASMANIAN JEWEL Trainer: Racecourse Executive The racecourse executive of Yarmouth Results: Stadium were found in breach of rules 39, 40, 102A, 113(ii), 113(v) and 152(i) & (ii) in respect of the circumstances that allowed the greyhound TASMANIAN JEWEL to compete at Yarmouth Stadium between 27 September 2007 and 26 May 2008 with incorrect earmark identification. The racecourse executive of Yarmouth Stadium were not in attendance but were represented by racing manager, Mr Bill Johnson. Having considered their explanation together with the circumstances of the case, the Stewards ordered that the racecourse executive be cautioned as to the robust identification of greyhounds and fined the sum of £300. Rules Concered: 39 40 102A 113(ii) 113(v) 152(i) 152(ii) Go to top National Inquiry At their meeting on: 16/10/2008 The following inquiries were held: Stadium/Greyhound: Yarmouth Stadium, CONFIDENT JUDY Trainer: Racecourse Executive The racecourse executive of Yarmouth Stadium were found in breach of rules 39, 40, 102A, 113(ii), 115(ii) and 152(i) & (ii) and professional trainer Mrs Julie Green was found in breach of rules 115(ii) and 152(i) & (ii) in respect of the circumstances that allowed the greyhound CONFIDENT JUDY to compete in a trial as ANGEL IN TIME at Yarmouth Stadium on 12 July 2008. The racecourse executive of Yarmouth Stadium were not in attendance but were represented by racing Results: manager, Mr Bill Johnson. Having considered their explanation together with the circumstances of the case, the Stewards ordered that the racecourse executive be severely reprimanded and fined the sum of £600. Mrs Green was in attendance and having considered her explanation together with the circumstances of the case, the Stewards ordered that she be cautioned as to the correct identification of greyhounds in her care and fined the sum of £250. Rules Concered: 39 40 102A 113(ii) 115(ii) 152(i) 152(ii) Go to top National Inquiry At their meeting on: 16/10/2008 The following inquiries were held: Stadium/Greyhound: Yarmouth Stadium, CONFIDENT JUDY Trainer: Mr J Graham This inquiry had been adjourned from 17 July 2008 at the request of the Stewards to make further investigations. At the adjourned inquiry, greyhound trainer Mr James Graham was found in breach of rules 152(i) & (ii) and 174(i)(a) in that a urine sample taken from the greyhound KILLALA SCHOLES at Shawfield Stadium on 25 January 2008, was analysed by HFL Sports Science laboratory as containing Results: the drug dexamethasone; and the administration of any substance that could affect the performance and/or well being of the greyhound. Mr Graham was in attendance at the inquiry held on 17 July 2008 but not at the adjourned hearing. Having considered his explanation together with the circumstances of the case, the Stewards ordered that he be reprimanded and fined the sum of £500. Rules Concered: 152(i) 152(ii) 174(i)(a) Go to top Local Inquiry At their meeting on: 10/10/2008 The following inquiries were held: Stadium/Greyhound: Doncaster Stadium, FRANNY FIREFOX Trainer: Mrs J Simpson At a local inquiry held by the Area Stipendiary Steward on 27th September 2008, greyhound trainer, Mrs J Simpsonâ™s explanation was accepted in respect of the improved performance of the greyhound FRANNY Results: FIREFOX at Doncaster Stadium on 14th June 2008. Opening at 3/1 and starting at 4/1, the greyhound had won a 483m race recording a calculated time of 29.78 seconds as compared with its best recent time of 30.04 seconds recorded in a race on 9th February 2008. Opening and starting at 3/1, the greyhound had won a 483m race recording a calculated time of 29.82 seconds as compared with its best recent time of 30.49 seconds recorded in a race on 5th April 2008. Rules Concered: Go to top Local Inquiry At their meeting on: 10/10/2008 The following inquiries were held: Stadium/Greyhound: Perry Barr Stadium, EOIN THE FARMER Trainer: Mr S M Donnelly At a local inquiry held by the Area Stipendiary Steward on 7th October 2008, professional trainer, Mr S M Donnelly was cautioned as to the future running of greyhounds in his care Results: for a breach of Rule 49(iv) & 216 in respect of the improved performance of the greyhound EOIN THE FARMER at Perry Barr Stadium on 8th August 2008; and his failure to use his best endeavours to ensure that the performance of the greyhound was to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Opening at 5/1 and starting at 6/1 the greyhound had won a 480m race recording a calculated time of 28.56 seconds as compared with its best recent time of 29.16 seconds recorded in a trial on 2nd August 2008. Rules Concered: 49 (iv) & 216 Go to top Local Inquiry At their meeting on: 10/10/2008 The following inquiries were held: Stadium/Greyhound: Perry Barr Stadium, FOXWOOD WHISTLER Trainer: Mr W Russell At a local inquiry held by the Area Stipendiary Steward on 7th October 2008, professional trainer, Mr W Russell was cautioned as to the future running of greyhounds in his care for a breach of Rule 49(iv) in respect of the improved performance of the greyhound FOXWOOD WHISTLER at Perry Barr Stadium on 10th July 2008; and his failure to Results: use his best endeavours to ensure that the performance of the greyhound was to the satisfaction of the Stewards. Opening at 9/4 and starting at 2/1 the greyhound had won a 480m race recording a calculated time of 29.08 seconds as compared with its best recent time of 29.65 seconds recorded in a trial on 24 June 2008.
