Bulletin # 08 CAMEROON 02 July, 2020 KEY HIGHLIGHTS IN NORTH-WEST REGION (COVID-19): • The North West Region (NWR) has recorded a total of 497 confirmed cases and 51 deaths as of 30 June 2020. The case fatality rate is 10%.

• 12 out of the l9 health districts so far have been affected (Bamenda, , Bali, , , Ndop, Fundong, Santa, East, Bafut, Nkambe and Wum). The Bamenda health district alone has recorded 72% cases and second highest health district is Fundong recorded 12 % cases.

• The Regional delegation has scaled-up RDT testing sites for COVID-19 with rapid response teams to all health districts of NWR.

• 259 cases are currently on treatment with 15 hospitalized (7 on Oxygen, 40 in Quarantine center and 204 at home). 121 cases have recovered and discharged from the treatment center.

• The number of COVID-19 confirmed cases has sharply increased during the last eight days as a result of systematic identification and massive testing of all suspected COVID-19 cases with the RDT. •

• 14 out of 19 health districts have been conducting rapid antigen testing. A total of 1.397 persons have been tested with RDTs in last two weeks.

• Follow up all contacts of positive cases, and testing is conducted immediately whenever contacts are identified.
