www.UtahUtes.com 5 2001 UTAH FOOTBALL NOTES MCBRIDE SAYS UTE SINGLE-GAME CAREER HIGHS “Postponing the Air Force game was the right thing to do. I’m glad we didn’t play. It’s an issue of respect. We’ll make up the game at the Passing end of the season … Randle El is an awesome player. The guy is like Lance Rice 185 vs. New Mexico, 2000 a magician. He is a legitimate Heisman guy. They have a very good offensive line and good runners … It will be a good experience for Rushing our guys to go back there and play. We’re in a good position. We Adam Tate 133 vs. Utah State, 2000 improved a lot against Oregon and this game will be the next step. We’ve had an extra three or four days to prepare for these guys, so I Dameon Hunter 104 vs. Oregon, 2001 expect that to help.” Marty Johnson 95 vs. Utah State, 2001 ‘FOUR’! Receiving Utah has a No. 4 starring on both sides of the ball and it’s two Cliff Russell 155 vs. Wyoming, 1999 different players: Running back Marty Johnson and free safety Josh Lyman 73 vs. Oregon, 2001 Antwoine Sanders have made an instant impact as junior college Tackles transfers. Sanders was just as impressive in his debut, which Ma’ake Kemoeatu 8 vs. Washington State, 2000 resulted in MWC defensive player of the week honors. Against the Aggies, Sanders two interceptions (56 return yards), three pass Interceptions breakups and five tackles. Antwoine Sanders 2 vs. Utah State, 2001 OH BROTHER Field Goal Utah’s starting brother team of Doug and Jason Kaufusi are already Ryan Kaneshiro 47 vs. Wyoming, 1999 in the picture for postseason recognition.
