WARNING WEAPON SAFETY: Prior to mounting the HWS on your weapon, be sure the weapon is cleared. If you are not sure how to clear your weapon, please see the accompanying operator’s manual for the weapon platform you are mounting the sight on. LASER SAFETY: The HWS is a Class II laser product. The Class II level illuminating beam, however, is completely blocked by the housing. The only laser light accessible to the eye is the image beam and is at a power level within the limit of a Class IIa laser product. The illuminating beam can become accessible to the eye if the housing is broken. Turn the sight off immediately and return the broken unit to the factory for repair. FCC COMPLIANCE: The HWS complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. -

August 2013 System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Summary Non-Magnifying Patrol Rifle Sights (AEL reference number 03OE-02-BNOC) Non-magnifying sights aid in aiming patrol rifles and allow law enforcement officers to keep both eyes open, which provides a full field of view, enhances situational awareness, and helps users maintain depth perception. July 20, 2016 ENFORCEMENT NOTICE PROHIBITED ASSAULT WEAPONS The Office of the Attorney General (AGO) is issuing this Enforcement Notice to provide a framework to gun sellers and others for understanding the definition of “Assault weapon” contained in G.L. c. 140, § 121 (“Section 121”). In particular, this notice provides guidance on the identification of weapons that are “copies” or “duplicates” of the enumerated Assault weapons that are banned under Massachusetts law. This guidance will be applied to future transfers of “Assault weapons,” as that term is defined in Section 121. This may include, without limitation, the AGO’s enforcement of criminal laws such as G.L. c. 140, §§ 128 and 131M, and civil laws such as G.L. c. 93A. Background: The sale, transfer, or possession of an “Assault weapon,” as defined in Section 121, is unlawful pursuant to G.L. c. 140, §§ 128 and 131M. “Assault weapon” is defined as a: semiautomatic assault weapon as defined in the federal Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act, 18 U.S.C. section 921(a)(30) as appearing in such section on September 13, 1994, and shall include, but not be limited to, any of the weapons, or 1 copies or duplicates of the weapons [emphasis added], of any caliber, known as: (i) Avtomat Kalashnikov (AK) (all models); (ii) Action Arms Israeli Military Industries UZI and Galil; (iii) Beretta Ar70 (SC-70); (iv) Colt AR-15; (v) Fabrique National FN/FAL, FN/LAR and FNC; (vi) SWD M-10, M-11, M-11/9 and M-12; (vii) Steyr AUG; (viii) INTRATEC TEC-9, TEC-DC9 and TEC-22; and (ix) revolving cylinder shotguns, such as, or similar to, the Street Sweeper and Striker 12; provided, however, that the term assault weapon shall not include: (i) any of the weapons, or replicas or duplicates of such weapons, specified in appendix A to 18 U.S.C. -

REPORT in the Matter of the March 12, 2020 Police-Involved Shooting In
REPORT In the matter of the March 12, 2020 police-involved shooting in Potomac, Maryland. Pursuant to an agreement between the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office is providing this summary detailing the investigation and conclusions regarding a police-involved shooting that occurred on March 12, 2020 at 12252 St. James Rd., Potomac, Maryland. Timeline of Investigation On the morning of Thursday, March 12, 2020, the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office received a phone call from the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office providing information that a police-involved shooting resulting in a death had just occurred in Potomac, Maryland (Montgomery County) that morning. At that point, the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office took control of the investigation. The Howard County prosecutor spoke with the lead detective a short time later to obtain the basic details of the case. The detective informed the prosecutor that at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the Montgomery County Special Operations - Tactical Unit were serving a high-risk search warrant related to firearms offenses at 12252 St. James Road in Potomac, Maryland. During the execution of the warrant, the suspect in the case, Duncan Lemp, a 21-year-old male, was shot and killed by a member of the Tactical Unit. After receiving basic information regarding the case, the assigned prosecutors visited the scene. The prosecutors arrived at the scene at around 11 a.m. Upon arrival, they were greeted by Montgomery County police detectives. -

SHORT TITLE. 4 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Assault Weapons Ban 5 of 2017’’. 6 SEC. 2. DEFINITIONS. 7 (a) IN GENERAL.—Section 921(a) of title 18, United 8 States Code, is amended— SIL17927 S.L.C. 2 1 (1) by inserting after paragraph (29) the fol- 2 lowing: 3 ‘‘(30) The term ‘semiautomatic pistol’ means any re- 4 peating pistol that— 5 ‘‘(A) utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing 6 cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and 7 chamber the next round; and 8 ‘‘(B) requires a separate pull of the trigger to 9 fire each cartridge. 10 ‘‘(31) The term ‘semiautomatic shotgun’ means any 11 repeating shotgun that— 12 ‘‘(A) utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing 13 cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and 14 chamber the next round; and 15 ‘‘(B) requires a separate pull of the trigger to 16 fire each cartridge.’’; and 17 (2) by adding at the end the following: 18 ‘‘(36) The term ‘semiautomatic assault weapon’ 19 means any of the following, regardless of country of manu- 20 facture or caliber of ammunition accepted: 21 ‘‘(A) A semiautomatic rifle that has the capac- 22 ity to accept a detachable magazine and any 1 of the 23 following: 24 ‘‘(i) A pistol grip. -
