The Ashok Nagar field, which falls under the Mahanadi-Bengal-Andaman (MBA) basin, has proved to be commercially viable. Since a cloud service typically hosts data and processes of a great number of citizens, enterprises and even government agencies, its security becomes even more critical and important. Many a times, these services are compromised by uploading a malicious file, which acts as a backdoor or ransomware, via an authorized client of the cloud service. If any attacker manages to pull it off, the results can be disastrous. In this project, we have tried to address this issue by developing an intermediate security service that will scan, detect and remove all kinds of malicious files during transit itself, before it reaches its destination in the cloud. The main focus of this project will be cloud storage services. It will basically be a platform, just like a cloud service where all cloud providers can subscribe to the service and place the intermediate malware scanning servers before their own cloud infrastructure, this way every file on its way to their service will have to go through the intermediate malware scanning service, resulting in better security of the cloud infrastructure.

    21st Dec – 27th Dec Weekly Compilation (The Hindu+ Indian Express + PIB + Other World Wide News) 3D Printing (The Hindu) Why in News: Recently, L&T Construction has 3D printed a G+1 (Ground plus one) building for the first time in India at Kancheepuram, Chennai with indigenous concrete mixture. 3D printing or Additive Manufacturing (AM) is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The term “3D printing” is more often used by the media and the general public. Whereas the term “Additive Manufacturing” is majorly used by professionals in the industrial sectors Additive Manufacturing, the principle is to add more material to create a 3D object. It allows you to make small batches, detailed models, efficient prototyping, or production. Process of 3D Printing The process starts with making a virtual design of the object that has to be created. This virtual design is made in a CAD (Computer Aided Design) file using a 3D modeling program (new object) or using a 3D scanner (existing object). Slicing software slices the final model into hundreds or thousands of horizontal layers. When this prepared file is uploaded in the 3D printer, the printer creates the object layer by layer. The 3D printer reads every slice (or 2D image) and proceeds to create the object blending each layer together with no sign of the layering visible, resulting in one three-dimensional object. Applications of 3D Printing The 3D printing technology is used for both prototyping and distributed manufacturing with applications in architecture, construction, industrial design, automotive, aerospace, dental and medical industries, biotech (human tissue replacement), fashion, jewellery, education, geographic information systems and many other fields.

The DFC will invest this $54 million in equity for the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) in India. NIIF will use this capital to support economic growth and address critical development challenges in the country. This financing is part of NIIF’s final round of fund-raising for the fund. DFC is the development finance institution of the United States federal government, primarily responsible for providing and facilitating the financing of private development projects in lower- and middle-income countries. NATIONAL Niti Aayog launches Cloud Storage Service ‘DigiBoxx’ NITI Aayog has launched indigenously developed India’s first Digital Asset Management and Storage platform, called ‘DigiBoxx’. The initiative will give a boost to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, as India now has its own cloud storage platform. This cloud storage and file sharing service will be available for desktop, iOS, and Android users, including both regular users as well as businesses. Digiboxx offers free 20GB cloud storage space, and 100GB space per month at just Rs 30.
