Dublin Terence Reeves-Smyth Luttrellstown demesne, which occupies around 600 acres within its walls, has long been recognised as the finest eighteenth century landscape in County Dublin and one of the best in Ireland. Except for the unfortunate incorporation of a golf course into the eastern portion of its historic parkland, the designed landscape has otherwise survived largely unchanged for over two centuries. With its subtle inter-relationship of tree belts and woodlands, its open spaces and disbursement of individual tree specimens, together with its expansive lake, diverse buildings and its tree-clad glen, the demesne, known as 'Woodlands' in the 19th century, was long the subject of lavish praise and admiration from tourists and travellers. As a writer in the Irish Penny Journal remarked in October 1840: ‘considered in connection with its beautiful demesne, [Luttrellstown] may justly rank as the finest aristocratic residence in the immediate vicinity of our metropolis.. in its natural beauties, the richness of its plantations and other artificial improvements, is without rival in our metropolitan county, and indeed is characterised by some features of such exquisite beauty as are rarely found in park scenery anywhere, and which are nowhere to be surpassed’.1 Fig 1. Het eerste gedeelte van deze brochure bevat de Technische Voorschriften inzake Binneninstallaties (ook private installaties genoemd), die op het openbaar waterleidingnet aangesloten zijn. Ze volgen de principes van de norm NBN EN 1717 “Bescherming tegen verontreiniging van drinkwater in waterinstallaties en algemene eisen voor inrichtingen ter voorkoming van verontreiniging door terugstroming” en van de daarin opgesomde productnormen (1). Vanaf begin 2004 werden deze Technische Voorschriften volledig opgenomen in het reglementair kader van toepassing in het Vlaamse Gewest (www.aqua"anders.be). Systematische controles van de nieuwe installaties werden ingevoerd zodat enkel de goedgekeurde installaties aan het net gekoppeld mogen worden. Gelijkaardige maatregelen zijn ook, volgens speci!eke modaliteiten, van toepassing in de andere Gewesten. Het Reglement (blz. 18) als dusdanig wordt voorafgegaan door een rijkelijk geïllustreerde educatieve voordracht over de Technische Voorschriften. Deze vervangt geenszins het reglementaire gedeelte. De afgevaardigden van de waterleidingbedrijven en de experten van Belgaqua zijn steeds beschikbaar om de essentiële regels toe te lichten. De werkbladen voor installaties en toestellen voor niet-huishoudelijk gebruik (Deel III) zijn reeds voor een groot deel herwerkt volgens de principes van de NBN EN 1717. Het secretariaat en onze experten zullen u graag adviseren. -

REDUNDANCY GAIN OF INCIDENTAL ADVERTISING EXPOSURE ON THE INTERNET A DISSERTATION SUBMITTED TO THE FACULTY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA BY SANGRUO HUANG IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY JOHN EIGHMEY JULY 2014 Copyright © 2014 by Sangruo Huang Abstract “Redundant ad exposure”, defined as simultaneous exposures to multiple exemplars of an ad, is an emerging ad exposure strategy on the Internet and has been employed increasingly by online news sites. The effects of such strategy, however, have never been examined. The current study took the initiative to examine the effects of redundant ad exposure strategy on brand memory and brand preference relative to two other commonly used online ad exposure strategies: single exposure and repeated exposure, when ad exposure was incidental. Additionally, the factor of ad size variation was included to test whether size variation interacted with ad exposure effects. In two experiments, a redundancy gain effect was revealed for exactly identical ads, but not for size- variation ads. Specifically, redundant exposures to exactly identical ads led to (a) greater brand memory and brand preference, as well as (b) faster response to choosing a preferred target brand, than single exposure. Redundant exposures to exactly identical ads were also (c) more effective than repeated exposures in many aspects. These findings provide implications and suggestions for media planners to rethink conventional and modern planning strategies with regard to incidental ad exposure -
