Will you join us? www.twosacrowd.com.au IRAN 2 IRAN 16 DAY SOLOS TOUR: 23RD SEPTEMBER - 8TH OCTOBER 2020 Day 1 - Wednesday 23rd September 2020 SHIRAZ (D) Welcome to Shiraz! You’ll be met at Shiraz airport and transferred to your hotel. Tonight we get to know our tour guide, Two’s a Crowd Tour Host and fellow travellers at the tour briefing and welcome dinner. It will be our first taste of the warm and welcoming Iranian hospitality we will experience throughout our tour. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Park Hotel’, in Shiraz (4 star) Day 2 - Thursday 24th September 2020 SHIRAZ (B, L) Shiraz is thought of by many to be the hub of Persian culture and our day here will be filled with feasts for all the senses. We start with a trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the stunning gardens of Bagh-e Eram, famed for its impressive cypress trees. We’ll visit the Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, the Shah Cheragh Mausoleum and the tombs of two of Iranian’s greatest poets Hafezieh and Sa’dieh. We’ll wander the maze of lanes at the Vakil Bazaar, where you’ll find over 200 stores selling carpets, spices, crafts and clothes. A wonderfully atmospheric experience. We’ll also visit the courtyard of Narenjestan-e Qavam, filled with the aroma of orange trees and finally the fortress of Arg-e Karimkhani. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Park Hotel’, in Shiraz (4 star) Day 3 - Friday 25th September 2020 SHIRAZ (B, L) We depart Shiraz in the morning for a full day excursion to Persepolis, the capital of ancient Achaemenid Empire with its palaces and temples dating back to 500 BC. We’ll also see the magnificent rock tombs of Naqsh-e Rostam before heading to Pasargad, another UNESCO World Heritage Site to visit the tomb of Cyrus the Great. We return to Shiraz and have the evening to enjoy at leisure. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Park Hotel’, in Shiraz (4 star) Day 4 - Saturday 26th September 2020 SHIRAZ-KERMAN (B, L) (approx driving distance 560kms) After breakfast we make our way to the gateway of South Eastern Iran, the desert city of Kerman. En-route we visit the ruins of Sassanid Palace in Sarvestan. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Tourist Inn’, in Kerman (3 star) www.twosacrowd.com.au IRAN 3 IRAN 16 DAY SOLOS TOUR: 23RD SEPTEMBER - 8TH OCTOBER 2020 Day 5 - Sunday 27th September 2020 KERMAN (B, L) Our day in historic and lively Kerman begins with a morning visit to the Ganjali Khan Complex, a traditional bathhouse dating back to the Safavid period, and the Jabalieh Dome, which incredibly dates back to 2nd Century AD. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Tourist Inn’, in Kerman (3 star) Day 6 - Monday 28th September 2020 MAHAN-RAYEN (B, L) After breakfast we head off on an excursion to yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the picturesque Gardens of Mahan, before heading to the mud brick citadel of Rayen, believed to be over 1,000 years old. You’ll also get the chance to see the amazing Kalouts, natural rock formations found in the surrounding desert. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Tourist Inn’, in Kerman (3 star) Day 7 - Tuesday 29th September 2020 MEYMAND-YAZD (B,L) (approx driving distance 520kms) Today starts with a trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the stone village of Meymand. Consisting of around 400 caves hand dug into the walls of the surrounding valley, it’s a sight to behold. Next we make our way to Yazd. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Hotel Safaiyeh’, in Yazd (5 star) Day 8 - Wednesday 30th September 2020 YAZD (B, L) Today we get to explore one of the highlights of our trip, the enchanting city of Yadz. We’ve allowed an entire day to discover the wealth of hidden gems it has to offer, including a trip to the Amir Chakhmaq Complex, one of the largest religious sites in Iran. We’ll spend some time in the old city, one of the oldest on earth, where you’ll see ‘Badgirs’ also known as ‘wind towers’ on all the town’s rooftops. As well as the Grand Mosque and the Zoroastrian Fire Temple, we’ll also visit the Zoroastrian Towers of Silence, located on two hilltops on the outskirts of the city. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Hotel Safaiyeh’, in Yazd (5 star) www.twosacrowd.com.au IRAN 4 IRAN 16 DAY SOLOS TOUR: 23RD SEPTEMBER - 8TH OCTOBER 2020 Day 9 - Thursday 1st October 2020 YAZD-MEYBOD-NAEIN-ISFAHAN (B, L) (approx driving distance 320kms) Today we start making our way to Isfahan, with some fascinating stops en-route. First we’ll head to the 1800 year old town of Meybod, where we’ll see possibly the oldest mud-brick structure in Iran, the 1st Century Narin Castle. Next we visit the desert city of Nain, where we’ll explore the 9th Century Jame Mosque, an excellent example of Persian architecture along with the Old Bazaar. We will continue on to spend our evening at leisure in Isfahan. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Hotel Part’, in Isfahan (3 star) Day 10 - Friday 2nd October 2020 ISFAHAN (B, L) There’s a reason Isfahan is thought of as one of Iran’s most appealing destinations and today you’ll find out why. Our day begins with a visit to three of the most exquisite Palace’s in the region: Chehel Sotoun, Hasht Behest and Aaliqapu. We’ll take a stroll through the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Naqsh-e Jahan Square, the second largest square on earth. Our next stop are the mosques of Imam and Sheikh Lotfollah, before heading to the Armenian district of Jolfa for a tour of Vank Cathedral, the historic focal point of the Armenian Church in Iran, filled with recently restored, brightly coloured frescoes. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Hotel Part’, in Isfahan (3 star) Day 11 - Saturday 3rd October 2020 ISFAHAN (B) There’s so much to absorb in this beautiful city, so today is a free day to take in the sights and sounds at your leisure. Tonight the group will enjoy an evening stroll from Thirty Three Bridges to Khajou Bridge. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Hotel Part’, in Isfahan (3 star) Day 12 - Sunday 4th October 2020 ISFAHAN-ABYANEH-MATIN ABAD (B, L) (approx driving distance 165kms) Today we make our way to Matin Abad. En route we take a trip to the ancient village of Abyaneh, situated at the foot of Mount Karkas. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Matin Abad Eco Camp’ 3.5 (star) www.twosacrowd.com.au IRAN 5 IRAN 16 DAY SOLOS TOUR: 23RD SEPTEMBER - 8TH OCTOBER 2020 Day 13 - Monday 5th October 2020 KASHAN (B, L) (approx driving distance 67kms) In the morning you have the opportunity to take a camel ride through the surrounding desert. Next we drive to charming Kashan (UNESCO World Heritage Site) to visit the Garden of Fin, an amazing historical garden in the heart of the desert. Here we can relax and take in the turquoise coloured pools, natural springs and 500 year old cedar trees. We will then continue on to our hotel in Kashan. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Negin Traditional Hotel’, in Kashan (3 star) Day 14 - Tuesday 6th October 2020 KASHAN- TEHRAN (B,L) (approx. driving distance: 240kms) Today our touring in Kashan includes the 19th Century Agha Bozorg Mosque and one of the oldest archaeological sites in Iran- the Tepe Sialk, where you’ll see an abundance of pottery, tools and implements, dating back to the 4th millennium BC. We will then visit Borujerdi House, which boasts a fine example of ornate, Persian architecture. Afterwards we will depart for Tehran, stopping along the way at the Fatima al-Masoumeh Shrine, which is the physical and spiritual centre of the city of Qom. The evening will then be at leisure in Tehran. § Accommodation: Your own room at ‘Enghelab Hotel,’ in Tehran (4 star) www.twosacrowd.com.au IRAN 6 IRAN 16 DAY SOLOS TOUR: 23RD SEPTEMBER - 8TH OCTOBER 2020 Day 15 - Wednesday 7th October 2020 TEHRAN (B,L,D) Today we spend a full day taking in the sights of Tehran. We will visit the National Museum of Iran - where some of the exhibited items date back to 35,000 years. We will also see the UNESCO world heritage site of Golestan Palace, a splendid monument to the Qajar rulers. We will take on the bustling streets and alleys of the Grand Bazaar and visit one of Tehran’s most popular destinations- the National Carpet Museum.
