Good condition with dark blue cloth covered boards and minimal foxing. “African Game Trails. An Account of the African Wanderings of an American Hunter- Naturalist” by Theodore Roosevelt ©1910, Syndicate Publishing Company. Poor Book condition volume with back cover missing, front cover and spine detached, binding intact No with some loose pages, otherwise appears to have complete text and illustrations. “Tom Brown at Rugby” semi-biographical novel by British lawyer and politician Thomas Hughes (1822-1896). Originally published in 1857, our copy is a pre-1897 Porter & Book Coates (Philadelphia) reprint in quite good condition. Bonus: “Dr. Claudius - A True No Story” by F. Marion Crawford ©1906, The Macmillan Company, NY. 10 Rudyard Kipling volumes in red maroon soft leather binding with gold devices (including curious swatika decor - NOT a Nazi reference) ©1928 - Doubleday, Doran & Books Co., Garden City, NY. Very good condition set includes The Jungle Book, The Second Jungle No Book, Kim, Puck of Books Hill, Stalky and Company, A Diversity of Creatures, Departmental Ditties, The Five Nations, Traffic and Discoveries, Actions and Reactions. Vintage, unadorned, pine “hope” chest - 16”x 29”x 13” - side handles - missing inner lift- Chest out tray. No Partial but unusually extensive set (82 pieces) of English Ashworth ironstone transfer ware with oriental birds and flowers (pattern #B9461) from the late 1800’s during the height of the Western “Chinoiserie” craze. Scattered chipping, staining, and other damage and imperfections due to heavy early use and decades of moving and attic storage. Rarely Chinaware encountered nowadays except as occasional single pieces for sale, our set is remarkable No for its scope despite the random impairments: 11 dinner plates, 11 salad plates, 12 luncheon plates, 9 bread plates, 11 soup bowls, 10 berry bowls, 3 teacups (only one is not broken), 8 saucers, 2 covered vegetable dishes (1 missing lid), oblong server, crudité server, small platter, large platter. Take it all home and start searching for more teacups! “The Story of Buck Rogers on the Planetoid Eros” by Lt. Dick Calkins and Phil Nowlan, ©1934, Whitman Publishing Company, Racine, WI. “Over 150 pictures to color” (none has been colored). First edition in fair reading condition. Hinges have failed, spine Coloring Books retaped. Front cover art still bright and clean. Pages have yellowed but are clean and No unmarked. Overall a nice vintage keepsake for the sci-fi fan. Darning Eggs Pair of vintage wooden sock darning eggs. Anonymous. No Lovely pink scalloped glass lidded sugar bowl and toothpick holder (sorry, creamer is Glassware missing!) - golden accents. Nice examples of turn-of-the-last-century pattern glass - No maker unknown. From the estate of Lilian Hertlin. Relics from the 1) Ancient oil lamp from the Holy Land (c. 100 BCE-100 AD) with marking which indicate “House of David.” Certificate of Authenticity included; 2) “Widow’s Mite” - No Time of Christ first century BCE. Vintage 1966 pamphlet from the Office of Civil Defense: “Fallout Protection for Homes Pamphlet with Basements.” Includes mail-in postcard to request plans. An interesting blast from No the past. Elegant coffee/tea set by Reed & Barton in pewter. Likely dates ca. 1860 as the company began its soon-to-be-famous line of silver goods around that time as demand for pewter fell. Set includes matching coffee pot with cool dragon head spout and strawberry finial, Pewterware lidded sugar bowl, and cream pitcher. Bonus: pewter replacement tray by Gorham from No the 1970’s. Octette pattern. NB - old pewter like this is an alloy of tin and lead and should not be used for food or drink. (Modern pewter is tin and antimony. It is perfectly safe.) Lot of six (6) attractive luncheon size plates - rose pattern in pink and blue - imported Plates from Limoge, France by Ovington Brothers, New York prior to 1920. One small chip on No one plate. Lot of five (5) Higgins & Seiter (importers) majolica plates with rabbit decor. Plates Plates were made in France around the turn of the last century and are exceedingly rare today. No Perfectly lovely set of Ironstone Ware in “Blue Willow” pattern made in Occupied Japan Porcelain - (1945-1952) includes nine (9)tea cups with ten (10) saucers. One chip noted. Bonus: “Blue Willow” Large platter 15”x 12” and small saucer - unmarked, PLUS 1 contemporary English- No made porcelain lamp base in identical pattern but in rust color. Elegant lidded sugar bowl and creamer ca. 1915 by Erdmann & Schlegelmilch, Germany. Porcelain Lot Gold field with light blue hobnail pattern and transfer cartouche on one side. During the war, every American household was issued these booklets which would allow the bearer to purchase rationed No Booklets items such as sugar, coffee, gasoline, etc. A few of these still have stamps in them. 1) Vintage “Laundry Size” washboard No. 2085 and 2) smaller model #2133 by the Columbus Washboard Co. Columbus, Ohio. Ribbed glass scrubbing surface. Company is Washboards still in business making washboards by hand one at a time. Large (36”x 24”) framed oil or acrylic on canvas European street scene - artists signature Painting undecipherable to us (Tomson?) No Large (30”x 16”) landscape in oil on canvas signed by artist (perhaps F.A. Patt - difficult Painting to ascertain), plenty of age in damaged antique frame. Painting itself has expected No crazing but minimal paint loss. Needs a professional cleaning. A rare offering for us. Five (5) tall framed panels of colorfully hand painted papyrus sheets, 14”x 41” - age, Paintings artist, and origin unknown, possibly Egyptian or Middle Eastern. Needs research. No Pair of framed and matted paintings (presumed reproductions issued by Michael Alan Paintings Designs) on cracked linen by Cheri Blum, Maryland artist who died in 2003 at the tender No age of 34. If these are originals, they could be the treasure of the day. Pencil Sketch “The Covered Wagon” by Art Klein - 18”x 10” No Three framed prints by American photographer Maureen Love. Bird Bath (2), and Garden Photographs Window. No Photograph Framed harbor scene signed photo - Scott Schutz(?), photographer. 27”x 21” No Striking blossom close-up in yellows and oranges framed, matted, and signed Photograph (undecipherable) by the artist and dated 2005. No Hand made and decorated wooden plate with hanging hook made by Lithuanian artist Regino Petrutis in 1986 perhaps to honor the Lithuanian athlete Berta Kavolýtė- Plaque Barsteikienė. There is a paper label on the back, presumably in Lithuanian, giving an No explanation. Undoubtedly your fluency in Lithuanian exceeds ours! Attractive porcelain earred dish signed E. Wilson. Dish is most likely a blank imported from Eastern Europe and hand painted with roses by Ms. Wilson around the turn of the Porcelain last century. Porcelain painting was a common pastime among women of that era. No Although we’ve seen this signature before, the artist’s identity is otherwise unknown. Very large (14” wide / 10” tall) hand thrown glazed vessel with lid and handles. Artist’s name scratched into bottom prior to firing, but not easily decipherable. We could find no Pottery other examples. A both strikingly handsome and infinitely utilitarian object. Bonus: No large bowl glazed in contemporary pastel hues - also illegibly signed and dated 1993. Gorgeous copper batik fabric printing block from Indonesia which has been mounted as Printing Block art in an octagonal frame. Rare and beautiful object uniquely displayed. No Artfully framed and matted image entitled “Silk Horse & Swallow” reproduced from the Print original found in an ancient Chinese tomb.
