1 M. ABID KAMALSYAH

Half Javanese and Gorontalonese, Abid was born in Gorontalo 23 years ago. He lived independently in Depok, where he graduated from Universitas specializing in Process Engineering. Abid’s passion in environmental management, inspired him to come to Green School where he is an intern for KemBali, working as a project man- ager. He hopes to continue the success of KemBali’s sustainable initiative. He believes his time in Green School will be valuable in training him as a young Indonesian ecopre- neur.

2 CUT ERVIDA

Cut comes from Aceh, Indonesia, She received two bachelors; Teacher Training and Educa- tion faculty at , and at Ar-Raniry Islamic University majored family Law. She is actively involved in many environmental organizations both on national and interna- tional level. She is as coordinator of ASEAN Reusable Bag Campaign, initiated in leading the green living style to reduce the plastic bag use. She loves to work in order to build quality hu- man resources by organizing activities related to Environmental sustainability. She believes interning in Green School will provide a good learning process and leadership capacity for her future to make a change. She wants to take a good opportunity to contribute signifi- cantly to the success of the Kembali waste management program. She has a dream becom- ing an Environmentalist and also Green Entrepreneur.

3 I MADE WISAKANANDA PRADIPTA

Wisakananda is a passionate and visionary Balinese man. After earning his bache- lor in Civil Engineering from , he pursued his career from free- lancing to renowned startup. Discovering his true passion, he is currently dedi- cated to learn everything there is to learn about waste management. He hopes by joining KemBali it will equip him with all the necessary skill sets and endless poten- tial of network.

4 RUSTAMAN ABDUL S

Born and raised in an open minded Sundanase family in Sukabumi, West , Rustaman is a persistent young man who loves reading, teaching, and cooking so much. At the age of 16 he moved to , West Borneo, to pursue his dream in education. His passion for teach- ing started when he was in middle school, and inspired him to volunteer at American Corner as a teaching assistant in International Communication program for scholarship students from remote area, as well as a mentor in Community Development Tanjungpura University. Now he is a full intern in Kulkul Connection as a Bahasa Indonesia and English teacher.

5 YOGI ADITYA PUTRA

Passionate about civil society activism, Yogi believes Indonesia could become a great nation by standing on the local wisdom and national character of its own. Growing up in Solo, a city considered as one of Javanese's cultural center inspired his beliefs. Yogi is determined to bring his belief into reality by encouraging a fair, humane, participative, and national character-based development. Through his time in Green School, he hopes to get a deeper understanding of Balinese culture as a part of the rich Indone- sian culture and to connect globally with like-minded people within the community. He is also passionate about music, movies and AC Milan.

6 ZULKHAIDIR PURWANTO

Zul graduated last September at the Mining Engineering department, Hasanuddin Uni- versity. He likes to do research and development and dreams to be lecturer at the Mining En- gineering department so he is close to research and funding and can create sustainable im- pact and be more beneficial for people around him. While working as lecturer and do re- search, he would like to initiate a social enterprise. He is inspired with all the lessons he got during the program of YSEALI Environmental Issue and Climate Change in the University of Montana, the US. At Green School he would like to learn more about marketing because it will be very important for his future enterprise while he is applying and waiting for the an- nouncement of abroad scholarship.

7 DITA ANGGRAINI

Dita is 22 years old and comes from Jogjakarta and joins the internship program which is held by Green School, US Embassy, and Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). She is a last years student at Department of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics, Universitas Gadjah Mada. She loves traveling, reading and cooking. As an intern at Bio Bus, she will do some work in the product development field, communications and outreach. She will be involved in the students activities related to Bio Bus and Arduino . She has high curios- ity about sustainability, therefore she hopes that she can learn a lot of new things at Green- School. “ is really beautiful, Green School is really green and I want to learn about sustain- ability here”, Dita has a high interest in sustainability and community engagement.

8 ASRI SARASWATI

Asri Saraswati was born in Jakarta, 1988 and grew up as city girl. She finished her bachelor in Chemical Engineering at the University Technology of Malaysia and spent one year after graduating to teach in remote area in Sumatera Island under “Indonesia Mengajar“ or Teaching Indonesia program. She continued her professional work in the Fashion Industry before she moved to Jogjakarta to develop her Social Enterprise named ‘Agradaya’. She works with more than 150 farmers across Java. She believes on her calls to work in a crea- tive, multi-culture atmosphere and un-rigid organization. She loves to spend her spare time to do Yoga, reading and cooking.

9 ALICIA ANNISA

Born and raised in Denpasar, Bali, Alicia is one of the Indonesian students who received scholarship and graduated from the Green School Bali in 2014. Since, she has been a student at Quest Univer- sity Canada to pursue her Bachelor degree of Arts and Sciences. A question that she has con- structed at her University: “How can we encourage ethical decision making in order to mitigate cli- mate change?”, focuses on the subjects Philosophy, Psychology, Socio-Economics and Politics of Cli- mate change. This self-constructed question is her University’s equivalent of a major in a normal University. Despite her fascinations of knowledge and concerns with many of the global issues, Alicia is actually quite a musician herself. She believes that music is power and expressed it through her GreenStone presentation at The Green School in 2014. She also believes that when facing the global issues, change can only happen when we face it together.

10 HENGKY SOESILO

Hengky Susilo just received his Bachelor in English Education Program of Palangka Raya University. He has come from the heart of Borneo to learn at Green School. He committed to get new experiences as much as he could and bring it back to the society after he finishes his Intern Scholarship program. He is blessed to have Ransel Buku, Green School and some inspiring people who supported him. For him, education is the most important foundation to be built up in his home town and he wishes to create better education for every child in the village too. He is a short story writer, likes to lis- ten to music and travel a lot. One day, he also wishes to be able to get a scholarship and to go abroad.
