Day1:Dec.25 Chitose - Sounkyo Arrive at and meet your driver in a private car. Take the highway and drop in at Sunagawa Highway Oasis for a break. Taste some sample sweets at the shop there and find your favorite souvenir. Take another break at Kitanomori Garden, a place with a restaurant, a souvenir shop, ice pavilion, bear centere and a flower garden. Check in at a hotel in the vally of Sounkyo, a famous hot spring resort and a polular tourist spot, where you can see the famous two waterfalls, Ryusei(shooting star)and Ginga(galaxy).

Day2:Dec.26 Sounkyo - Kitami / Abashiri(2.5h)- Shiretoko(3.5h) Depart from the hotel in Sounkyo. Visit Kitakitsune Bokujo(fox farm)where they keep about 100 foxes, symbolic wild animal of Hokkaido(Admission: 500JPY per persnon). Have lunch Have some local specialty, shio-yakisoba(pan-fried noodles)for lunch in Kitami. Arrive in Shiretoko area which is registered as a World Heritage Site and also designated as a national park. Visit Oshinkoshin Waterfalls known as one of Japan’s best 100 waterfalls. Stay at a hot spring resort hotel in Utoro Shiretoko.

Day3:Dec.27 Shiretoko Shiretoko, registered as a World Heritage Site and also designated as a national park, is strictly limited for humans to access. The unique ecosystem being almost untouched, it is known to nature lovers around the world. Give your chartered car a day off and enjoy one-day activity in the nature with a chartered guide. The winter here has just so much to offer to your eyes. With the guide, you can fully enjoy the worry-free travel experience that entails experiences you might not have even expected. Day4:Dec.28 Shiretoko - Teshikaga(3.5h)- Lake Akan(1.5h)

After checking out your hotel, head to Mt. Io-zan(sulfer mountain)to see the fuming of volcanic activity. Stop by at Kawayu Onsen (hot spring resort) for lunch(discuss with the driver). Ater lunch drive to a scenic caldera Lake Mashu, known as “foggy lake.” Then go to see the beautiful Japanese Cranes, designated as a Special National treasure, in Akan Tancho no Sato Park(Admission: 400 JPY per person). Stay at a hotel in Lake Akan hot spring resort. Lake Akan is a beautiful lake known for its marimo(moss ball unique to the lake). Day5:Dec.29 Lake Akan - Noboribetsu(6.5h) Depart from Akan and head to Noboribetsu. On the way stop by in Shiraoi to have Shiraoi beef for lunch. Then head to Noboribetsu, the most famous hot spring resort and volcanic activity viewing spot in Hokkaido. Visit its Hell Valley, or Jigokudani, whose breathtaking volcanic view attracts visitors from around the world. Check in at a hotel at Noboribetsu hot spring resort.

Day6:Dec.30 Noboribetsu - Lake Toya(1h)- Hakodate(3h) Check out your hotel and go for an activity of making ice cream and butter at Lake Hill Farm in Toya. Have tastey lunch there. Head to the city of Hakodate on a highway. Visit Onuma Quasi-National Park known for its picturesque island dotted lakes and majestic dormant volcano, Mt. Komagatake. Enjoy sightseeing in Hakodate. At night visit Mt. Hakodate to take a cable car up and see the fabulous view from the top(Cable car fare: 770JPY per person).

Day7:Dec.31 Hakodate - Otaru - Sapporo(6h) Visit Hakodate Morning Market where they sell the fresh sea food and souvenirs. Take the highway and drop in for lunch in Toya(discuss with the driver). Have a break at Nakayama-toge mountain path, try jumbo yakitori(skewered chiken)or ageimo(potatoe fritters on a stick). Head to Otaru via Jozankei hot spring resort. See Otaru Canal, sake brewery(Japanese rice wine), Otaru Music Box Museum. Finally reach Sapporo and check in at a hotel downtown. Wait for your rental skis(all necessary equipment included)to be delivered to you r hotel by Japan Rental Co.

Day8:Jan.1 Sapporo Happy New Year! Enjoy skiing or snowboarding in Teine Highland Ski Resort. With an experienced instructor, you will be able to learn how to ski / snowboard safely. Take the bus “Teine Express” from Kamori Building(right behind your hotel)at 8:15, get to Teine Highland at 10:00. Take 90-minute lesson in the morning(10:30-12:00), have lunch on the mountain restaurant, try skiing / snowboarding on your own in the afternoon. Take 16:30 bus from Teine Highland and arrive at Kamori Building at 17:40. Rest yourselves in the hotel.

Day9:Jan.2 Sapporo - Chitose Enjoy snowmobile riding in one of Japan’s largest snowmobile park (9:00-14:30). If time allows, enjoy your last-minute shopping and sightseeing until your departure. Depart from New Chitose Airport. Have a safe flight. top(Cable car fare: 770JPY per person). PRICES
