Scripture provides sufficient evidence to confirm belief in angels, and it is fur ther enforced by church councils* a spiritual network

Angels and the Church The Catholic Church's teaching on angels falls into three stages, reports Charlene Altemose, MSC, in her book, What You Should Know About Angels. Who are the angels? * Faith/discovery stage - the church has taught die existence of angels from God's Megan McKenna, PhD describes some angels in her book Angels Unawares, Word and has articulated the fundamental beliefs both in creed and dogma. Orbis Books, 1995. The following is taken fromthi s book. * Inquiry stage - the church's understanding of angels has been deepened and broadened by the writing and research of scholars and theologians. * Commitment stage - the church has consistently encouraged devotion to angels in Four Archangels in the Western Church: personal spirituality. Many witness to the presence of angels in their lives today. • Michael the protector. He is the angel who fought with Lucifer (lightbearer) over obeying God and the one who stood guard in the garden of Eden to make sure Adam and Eve did not return. He also talked to Joan of Arc. Angels in Scripture • Gabriel, archangel of truth, is best known for his visit to Mary telling her of God's Angels are everywhere fromth e earliest times. III Aligning Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly! The GRACE process helps you to lighten up also. You can take yourself more lightly and move closer to the vibrational field of angels. This step involves bringing yourself into alignment with angelic energy. Aligning brings you into a more open space, still focused but relaxed. We must be relaxed to be open to their voices. Angels live in a state of expanded awareness and we need to expand our senses. This step has six exercises to help expand the senses: listening to music, centering meditation to feel the lifeblood pulsing within, vocalizing to open the throat chakra, a visualization for energy attunement, an angel invocation, and opening your wings.

Mills follows up Beijing

For those who did not attend the International Women's NGO Forum near Beijing last year, perhaps the next best thing was to attend the Women's Leadership for a New Century conference at Mills College, Oakland on April 13. Almost 400 women, a large portion young women and mostly local to the San Francisco Bay Area, attended to discuss and take action on the agenda through 30 workshops and dialogue sessions. Speakers at a closing assembly reminded participants to see each other as the greatest resource for women. Radical feminists are needed on the outside of institutions and moderate feminists are needed on the inside. Together doors will open. They were also reminded to network... it's not what women know but who we know that is important. Shirley May Springer Staten, International singer and Cultural Events Coordinator for the NGO conference near Beijing, led the women in a closing song, "Gonna keep on movin' forward, never lookin' back... raising Women Walking Tall performed a noon presentation at the Mills conference.
