•Question – Should official university social media accounts have more than one administrator?

•Answer – The short answer is that a second administrator is recommended to safeguard official university social media accounts. Here’s the rest of the story – several years ago, the UT Office of the General Counsel began requiring registration of official university social media accounts. You can find the social media account registration form at the Office of University Relations home page under the “Related Links” section. In addition to registering an official UT Martin social media account by using this form, you can also name a second administrator as an additional security step. Hannah Alexander, assistant director for marketing, often serves as the second administrator when a college/department/office chooses not to name someone from within that area to fill that role. Again, the recommendation is to name a second administrator as a security step for official university social media pages.
