The North American T-6 once served in more than 55 air forces around the world. Designed primarily for use as a trainer, the T-6 was also used in battle. It served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Some may know the plane by one of its other names. It’s sometimes called the SNJ, Harvard, Mosquito or T-Bird. The Texan also saw action in dozens of brush-fire wars around the Congo, Biafra, the Middle East, and throughout Latin America. What are the flight training requirements?

The single-engine P-40 Warhawk made its debut in 1939 and was one of the premier aircraft flown by Allied Forces in World War II. Some know the P-40 as the “Tomahawk” or “Kittyhawk”.

When are training flights available? Flights are available on select dates, Monday- Saturday, and must be scheduled in advance.

What does it cost to train in the P-40 Warhawk? Pricing depends on flight duration and starts at $990 for a 15-minute introductory flight. A one hour flight retails for $2850 US. Where in Florida are P-40 and T-6 flights available? Flights are offered in partnership with a vintage flight school located at Kissimmee Gateway Airport in Kissimmee, Florida.

Where is Kissimmee? Kissimmee is a town of about 60,000 people located near Orlando. Kissimmee Airport (KISM) is just 8 miles from Walt Disney World.

What should I wear for my flight training adventure? Dress in comfortable casual clothes. Please wear sturdy soled, closed toe shoes. No sandals or flip flops are permitted for safety reasons. Tennis shoes would be fine. A shirt with a collar will be more comfortable so the harness straps do not rub on your neck. Make sure you have a pair of sunglasses with you also.

Is flying a warbird dangerous? Yes. Our partners at Warbird Adventures operate flights according to strict FAA safety standards, but flying in ex- aircraft is inherently dangerous. You will be required to sign a Release of Liability and assume all risks.

What else should I know? Your flight training program includes admission to the Kissimmee Air Museum located at the airfield.
