Kyle Higashioka homered twice and the RailRiders held off a late charge July 4 vs. Rochester L 11-1 by the Bats to even the series. The Bats responded in the top of the third when vs. Rochester G2 W 7-4 (7) Nick Longhi drove in a run on an RBI single to tie the game at one. July 11 @ Syracuse L 4-2 July 12 @ Syracuse W 4-3 Deivi Garcia, the Yankees fourth-best prospect, made his second Triple-A start, but only worked three innings. Garcia allowed July 13 @ Syracuse L 6-2 one run on three hits with four walks and four strikeouts. July 14 @ Syracuse L 5-3 July 15 vs. Columbus W 6-4 Louisville held a temporary lead in the top of the fourth inning when Blake Trahan plated a run on a sac fly but the RailRiders July 16 vs. Columbus W 3-1 quickly answered with a nine-batter home half of the inning. Clint Frazier walked and Tyler Wade doubled. Thairo Estrada drilled July 17 vs. Columbus L 9-4 a two-run double, pushing Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in front 3-2. Scranton/ July 24 @ Columbus 7:05 PM Wilkes-Barre has 41 games to go in the regular season and holds a 5.0-game lead on the Bisons for first place after hitting the July 25 @ Columbus 12:05 PM All-Star break with a 5.5-game lead. That means if the RailRiders were to go 21-20 (.512) the rest of the way, the Bisons would July 26 @ Louisville 7:00 PM need to go 26-15 (.634) to catch them in the division. With Saturday’s win, the RailRiders are at 15 games above .500 for the sixth time July 31 @ Rochester 7:05 PM this season, but have yet to break through to get to 16 games above .500. The blast was the sixth grand slam of the year for SWB, breaking the old franchise record of five set in 2005 overall head-to-head: 1-1 (Shane Victorino, Chris Coste, Ryan Howard, Anthony Medrano and Jorge Padilla).
