Right- handed pitcher Tyler Danish, the Sox second round pick (55th overall) in the June 2013 First-Year Player Draft, headlines an Opening Day roster that features five of Chicago’s Top 30 Prospects, according to Baseball America. Danish (#10) is joined in Kannapolis by fellow top prospects 3B Trey Michalczewski (#19), OF Adam Engel (#22), IF Cleuluis Rondon (#26) and RHP Andrew Mitchell (#27). Both Danish, the 2013 Louisville Slugger National High School Player of the Year, and Rondon, whom the White Sox acquired in last season’s trade with Boston for Jake Peavy, are two of the 10 players that also spent time on the Intimidators roster in 2013. Ten members of the White Sox 2013 draft class will open the season in Kannapolis, including Danish, fourth rounder Mitchell, sixth rounder RHP James Dykstra, and seventh rounder Michalczewski, whom Baseball America tabbed the Best Power Hitter in the White Sox 2013 draft class. Catcher Omar Naraez, a Rule 5 draft pick from Tampa Bay this offseason, will also start the year with the Intimidators. A pair of former North Carolina collegians are coming to Kannapolis. Former Charlotte 49ers hurler Tyler Barnette is returning to the area after making his professional debut last season with Advanced Rookie Bristol. The right-handed pitcher, who was named Atlantic-10 Freshman of the Year in 2011, was drafted by the White Sox in the 14th round of the June 2013 First-Year Player Draft. Catcher Jeremy Dowdy, a former standout at Appalachian State, appeared in 31 games for Kannapolis in 2013. The Intimidators roster comprises 13 players who spent time on Rose’s Great Falls Voyagers team, which went 48-28 en route to a playoff appearance, in 2013. Outfielder Jacob Morris, who spent his entire professional debut in 2013 with the Voyagers, was named to the Pioneer League All-Star Team last season. 3 South Atlantic League Map 2014 Mileage Chart sheville A Augusta Charleston Delmarva Greensboro Greenville Hagerstown Hickory Kannapolis Lakewood Lexington Rome Savannah Virginia West Asheville Tourists 163 263 558 168 63 440 73 114 629 259 239 295 281 Augusta GreenJackets 163 133 602 246 117 556 203 176 710 425 205 117 421 Charleston RiverDogs 263 133 563 252 213 567 254 223 685 525 357 104 468 Delmarva Shorebirds 558 602 563 382 627 179 478 446 177 637 763 633 465 Greensboro Grasshoppers 168 246 252 382 189 317 88 57 470 391 383 313 235 Greenville Drive 63 117 213 627 189 502 114 124 733 334 202 256 360 Hagerstown Suns 440 556 567 179 317 502 380 382 221 461 637 634 290 Hickory Crawdads 73 203 254 478 88 114 380 64 563 334 308 286 245 Kannapolis Intimidators 114 176 223 446 57 124 382 64 534 406 314 254 259 Lakewood BlueClaws 629 710 685 177 470 733 221 563 534 680 826 754 509 Lexington Legends 259 425 525 637 391 334 461 334 406 680 316 556 173 Rome Braves 239 205 357 763 383 202 637 308 314 826 316 314 475 Savannah Sand Gnats 295 117 104 633 313 256 634 314 254 754 556 314 499 West Virginia Power 281 421 468 465 235 360 290 245 259 509 173 475 499 4 Kannapolis Intimidators 2014 Opening Day Roster # PITCHERS (13) B/T HT/WT BORN DOB ACQ.
