Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Within this publication we hope to create a forum that not only informs you of Dr Linda’s most recent successes and projects but will also inspire ideas for us all to achieve our mutual business goals. This newsletter will be updated with newsflashes on an ad hoc bases. Again Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Dr Linda is one of the best known and well respected psychologists in the UK. Her success lies in the fact that she has been able to combine a successful media career while concurrently maintaining her prestigious academic and clinical practice. While Dr. Linda has been very prolific in the academic publishing arena she signed to Hodder, for her first non-academic publication in 2003. The book is about self-esteem and body image. It’s entitled “Mirror Mirror” and was released end of June 2004 to rave reviews and features in all the press TV, Magazines and broadsheets.

Originally known by the public for her regular appearances and insightful commentary on the smash hit television phenomenon "Big Brother" Dr Linda also enjoyed a 4 month stint as resident Psychologist on "The Big Breakfast" for and soon after joined Cosmopolitan Magazine as Contributing Editor with a regular monthly column “I’m Listening” and Celebrity feature articles interviewing amongst others such celebrities as Daniella Westbrook, Alex Best. Dr Linda’s time at Cosmo has been hugely successful and her column has now been revamped and she is also writing 8 features a year. The fan mail that Dr Linda receives every month surpasses any other Cosmo writer.

Dr Linda has also been seen on our screens on numerous programmes and news segments over the last few years, such as “Global E-Missions” for Carlton, “Tomorrows World” and also the infamous “Britain’s Worst Driver” series for the BBC, ‘Youth Nation’ a series about young people which was featured as part of the BBC Summer Season, “DIY-TV”, “Newsround” and “Exchange” for Children’s BBC, “Flirty Something” for LWT, on BBC’s ‘Eastenders the whole truth’, several appearances on GMTV with Lorraine Kelly, “Tonight with Trevor McDonald” , “Liquid News”, ”Single Girls”, “Mile High Club” for Sky One, The Disney Channel, “Celebrity Excess” for YT, “Loose Lips” on Living TV and several appearances on the new “Richard & Judy” show for Channel 4. Dr Linda also has recently completed presenting a segment as part of a long standing series for ‘This Morning’ looking at Happiness

In the week commencing the 3rd February alone she appeared on a staggering number of live broadcasts including “The Wright Stuff” for Channel 5, “RI:SE” for Channel 4, “This Morning” for ITV, The Channel Five News, for C5 as well as conducting 2 sets of interviews for Cosmopolitan Magazine for her regular monthly Column and a guest interview with Kerrang Music Magazine, her comments regarding the “Michael Jackson” story were syndicated by the press association to numerous publications as well as being discussed by both the Capital FM network and Virgin radio nationwide.

Dr Linda returned to Cyprus at the end of that week to complete her project for the Cypriot Government nonetheless TV companies and News Desks were still requesting her expertise and are already rushing to secure her services immediately upon her return

The first series that Dr Linda presented “Double Cross” was screened on channel 5 in early 2003. Earlier this year completed filming the second series of “Britain’s Worst Drivers”.

Dr Linda has also been extremely busy with branded projects, such as Sure, Woolwich and Ocean Village Cruises, Almay and MSN, The Clairol Colour wonderful campaign, Oil of Olay, Dove, Veet, Bailey’s pleasure campaign, Evra contraception patches, the second year of her spearheading the campaign for safer drinking with Diaggeo and also the renowned US furniture designer Ethan Allen who is opening up showrooms in the UK. There are many more brand endorsements in the pipeline to include her own range of products for a leading high street retailer .

Dr Linda's professional advice is also in great demand from large corporate companies who require psychological advice and support when producing and marketing their new products.

Apart from her regular television & radio appearances Linda is currently heading up a large-scale study into the Psychological effects of skin disease in collaboration with dermatologists from the highly respected St. Thomas' Hospital, .

She has published widely in the field of Counselling and Medical psychology and has been invited to give specialist lectures at numerous Universities and Medical Schools both in England and throughout the world.

Nominated for the Annual Counselling Psychology Award 2001 by the British Psychological Society, not only is Dr Linda the youngest member of staff to attain the position of Senior Lecturer in her department, she is also course director of the MSc in Counselling Psychology at the London Guildhall University, where she holds one of the largest research grants in her department, and has recently been raised to the position of Reader in psychology a huge achievement for someone of her age.

Dr Linda is a Chartered Counselling and Health Psychologist and is considered one of the foremost Counselling Psychologists in the UK; she also holds one of the most prolific publication records in her field having published numerous research papers and authored a number of books with several book publications scheduled for release through to the this year. Her book on the psychological effects of disfigurement and skin disease is considered a seminal text in the field.

Dr Linda has worked in numerous treatment settings both NHS and private and has extensive experience in working with individuals, couples and families.

Bearing in mind the incomparable amount of experience and qualifications Dr Linda has amassed in her distinguished career it will come as no surprise that Dr Linda is considered amongst her peers to be one of the foremost Counselling Psychologists in the UK.

Dr Linda has 2 ITV programmes going to pilot stage, this year saw her commissioned for a strand on the Trisha show that was aired Easter 2004 and three strands on This Morning up to January 2005 her next book The Man Manuel will also be released 2005. You can see Dr Linda 24th October 2004 7pm giving out an award at the Teaching Awards with Eamon Holmes hosting , Bill Nighy and Dickie Attenborough to be screened on BBC2.
