CALL FOR SERVICE DELIVERY PARTNERSHIPS PROPOSALS.

The Foundation is on a journey to becoming a National Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Centre of Excellence ensuring Communities’ access to clean and safe drinking water; Adequate and dignified sanitation facilities for vulnerable communities; Prevention of water sources contamination; and Promoting hands-washing for behavioral change on personal hygiene through; Business partnerships development for WASH, a socio-economic developmental model integrating water, sanitation and hygiene interventions through entrepreneurship and the NGOs’ sector as service delivery partners. Key strategic impact analysis resonates in Drinking Water; Sanitation and Hygiene; Water Quality; Water use efficiency; Water resources management; and Ecosystems. In addition to Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) as primary activities of the RWF, Enterprise Development and Capacity Building of NGOs are key drivers of WASH and therefore RWF strategic intermediary activities. Secondary activities include; Biodiversity and Ecosystems Management; Rural Development; and Rand Water Cares. Qualifying Small Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) are invited to submit service delivery partnership proposals for the implementation of the Rand Water Foundation primary, intermediary, and secondary activities as follows:

1. WATER SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WASH) PROGRAMME:

WASH projects are aimed at ensuring safe management of water, sanitation, and hygiene in communities, further promoting a healthy society. The WASH programme will in 2021/2022 be implemented through the following projects:

1.1. Households Sanitation-Bucket Eradication.

The project is aimed at providing communities with adequate sanitation facilities restoring households’ dignity by replacing bucket systems with hygienic, environment friendly and waterless households’ sanitation facilities. The project will benefit one hundred (100) households located in Mamafubedu, Petrus Steyn within Nketoane Local Municipality in the Free State Province.

1.2. Schools Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Interventions. The project is aimed at improving schools’ access to clean and safe drinking water, adequate sanitation integrating hygiene promotional activities. The project activities include drilling and equipping of boreholes coupled with installation of Jojo tanks and water purification systems, construction and repairing of schools’ ablution facilities, water use efficiency education and ongoing operation and maintenance of water and sanitation infrastructure (boreholes and ablution facilities) including hygiene education. The project will be implemented as follows:

1.3. Rural Communities’ Water Supply

The project is aimed at ensuring communities’ access to clean and safe drinking water within the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, in , and Dr JS Moroka in as follows:

Community Area Municipality Project Activities Majaneng and Suurman City of Tshwane, Drilling and equipping of two (02) within Hamaanskraal. boreholes; Supply and installation of storage tanks with stands; and Installation of communal taps. Matshiding Village. Dr JS Moroka Drilling and equipping of three (03) Local boreholes; Supply, and installation Municipality. storage tanks with stands; and Installation of communal taps.

1.4. Water Harvesting

The Water Harvesting Project is aimed at water supply optimisation in schools further minimising schools’ municipal water bills through installation of water harvesting system including provision of Jojo tanks as water reservoirs. Benefiting ten (10) schools, the project will be implemented in Nketoane Local Municipality in the Free State.

1.5. Public Service Announcements (PSAs) – Community Education and Awareness Raising on Water Use Efficiency.

The project is aimed at raising public awareness on water conservation and demand management through television Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to promote water saving within society. The project will be showcased in partnership with a Television Broadcaster.

2. ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The Enterprise Development Programme is aimed at fostering an enabling environment for the development and growth of Small, Micro, and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs), ensuring that they benefit from socio-economic development initiatives in the water sector.

Qualifying Small Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) with proven experience in rendering water sector accredited training are invited to submit service delivery partnership proposals for the implementation of the following Enterprise Development Project:

2.1. RWF WASH Business Incubation Programme

2.1.1. A qualifying service delivery partner is sought for the implementation of the RWF WASH Businesses’ Incubation Programme for the period of three (03) years (2021/22-2023/24). The programme is meant to benefit a total number of fifty (50) Small Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) located within Gauteng, Free State, Mpumalanga, and North West through the following incubation activities: Accredited Training on WASH Business Management including generic business management skills development. 2.1.2. Coaching and Mentoring the Programme Incubates. 2.1.3. Organising and coordinating a business information and awareness creation event in the form of Business Expo to benefit the incubates. 2.1.4. Facilitate business markets and funding opportunities linkages for incubates. Proposals should therefore clearly highlight a three year programme rollout plan incorporating milestones and budget breakdown.

3. RURAL DEVELOPMENT

As one of the secondary activities of the RWF WASH Impact Driven Strategy, rural development will in 2021/2022 implement the Agricultural Cooperatives Development for Food Security project. The project is aimed at strengthening rural economic development through capacity building of agricultural Cooperatives driving food security initiatives. The project will in 2021/2022 benefit a total number of three (03) Agricultural Cooperatives. Qualifying SMMEs are invited to submit service delivery partnership proposals for the development and implementation of a Commercialisation Enhancement Plan to benefit the three Agricultural Cooperatives as follows:

3.1. Development and Implementation of a Commercialisation Enhancement Plan.

The commercialisation plan will directly benefit the following community businesses as supported by Rand Water Foundation: 3.1.1. Ya-Sechaba Agricultural Cooperative located in , Rand West Local Municipality within the West Rand District, Gauteng.

3.1.2. Koppies Greenhouse Hydroponics Farming Primary Cooperative located in Kwakwatsi Township, Koppies, in Ngwathe Local Municipality within Fezile Dabi District, Free State. 3.1.3. Bantubonke Hydroponics Farming Cooperative located in Bantubonke Community Area, Meyerton, in Midvaal Local Municipality within Sedibeng District, Gauteng

4. Rand Water Foundation Strategic Update.

As indicated earlier on that the Foundation is on a journey to becoming a National Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Centre of Excellence ensuring Communities’ access to clean and safe drinking water, adequate and dignified sanitation facilities for vulnerable communities, including prevention of water sources contamination, the RWF Board seeks to undertake a strategic planning session to ensure that the RWF Strategy is continuously aligned with the ever changing socio-economic environment within which Rand Water operates, further ensuring business transformation and operational excellence as the implementation of the strategy progresses. Services of a qualifying SMME are sought to facilitate a two (02) days RWF Board Strategic Planning workshop. Focusing on the RWF WASH Impact Driven Strategy 2030, the session will be driven through the following objectives:

 Key Strategic Impact Analysis to ensure ongoing business operational excellence.  Rigorous growth and sustainable strategic initiatives.  Robust strategic updates to ensure the organisational resilience and ability to withstand difficult times.  Foresight strategic analysis to ensure the organisational relevance today and in the future.

Accountability Successful service delivery partners will report to the respective Programme Managers as per adverts above for the duration of the contract period further reporting on project implementation progress made at mutually agreed time-frames.
