CALL FOR WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WASH) SERVICE DELIVERY PARTNERSHIPS FUNDING PROPOSALS-THE NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS (NGOs) SECTOR.

The Rand Water Foundation (RWF) is on a journey to becoming a National Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Centre of Excellence ensuring Communities’ access to clean and safe drinking water; Adequate and dignified sanitation facilities for vulnerable communities; Prevention of water sources contamination; and Promoting hands-washing for behavioral change on personal hygiene ; a socio-economic developmental model integrating water, sanitation and hygiene interventions through the NGOs’ sector as key service delivery partners. Key strategic impact analysis of WASH resonates in Drinking Water; Sanitation and Hygiene; Water Quality; Water use efficiency; Water resources management; and Ecosystems. In addition to Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) as primary activities of the RWF, Capacity Building of NGOs is one of the key strategic drivers of WASH and therefore classified as RWF’s strategic intermediary activities. The programme activities is in the current year (2020/2021) focusing on driving several WASH activities to benefit RW’s areas of operation, and it such activities will be undertaken by qualifying and experienced NGOs to be identified. Such NGOs will be capacitated through funding to enable efficient and effective WASH service delivery in this regard. The second programme activity is training and development of NGOs for WASH service delivery. Training will focus on NGOs in the water sector, and those that are currently not in the water sector, but would want to change focus into WASH. Qualifying NGOs are invited to submit service delivery partnership funding proposals as follows:

1. WASH SERVICE DELIVERY PARTNERSHIPS FUNDING/GRANTS.

Proposals are invited for the implementation of the following WASH activities:

 Drilling and equipping of fifteen (15) boreholes in Madibeng Local Municipality (Maboloka, Malerato, Jerico, and Dipompong community areas).

 Installation of one hundred (100) communal taps in Govan Mbeki Local Municipality (Kinross, Bethal, and Evander community areas)  Installation of one hundred (100) communal taps in Merafong Local Municipality (Khutsong, Sonderwater, Wedela, Chris Hani and Kokosi community areas).  Repairs of burst reticulation pipeline in Rand West City Local Municipality (Brandvlei).  Supply and Delivery of 30 X 10 000 liters’ water storage tanks in Madibeng  Supply and delivery of 5000 X 25 liters’ water containers with taps in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (Makause Primrose Ext 8 in ; Van Dyk in ; Vusi Musi in Thembisa; Tambokiesfontein in Vosloorus; and Mkahancwa in )  Cleaning of the (Only NGOs based in Mamello Community Area in the Vaal Marine, Midvaal Local Municipality may apply).  COVID-19 screening and testing activities within communities, including community education and awareness raising for social behavioral change in Emfuleni Local Municipality (Sebokeng).  Construction of ablution facilities in five schools based in (Dr. JS Moroka, Emalahleni and Bushbuckridge Local Municipalities).

Funding proposals should be accompanied by the following documents:

 Completed RWF application Form.  Constitution of the organisation;  Valid NGO registration certificate or proof of NPO registration;  Proof of previous work undertaken in the water sector.  Tax Clearance Certificate;  Detailed Project plan;  Stamped bank letter confirming the account details in the name of the organisation;  Management account (Income and expenditure) statement;  The NGO must be in operation for at least two years or more;

2. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OF NGOs

The project is aimed at creating an enabling environment within the NGOs sector empowering NGOs to become productive, effective and sustainable through development and training on water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) service delivery. Institutions of Higher Education, SMMEs and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) with relevant experience are herewith invited to submit proposals to partner with the RWF as follows:

 Provision of accredited training on water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) service delivery business development and management to forty (40) delegates representing twenty (20) NGOs based in Province. The successful Service Delivery Partner will be expected to undertake skills audit on targeted NGOs, develop needs based training programme and ensure implementation thereof. Training should run for a period of twelve (12) months.
