In altri termini riascoltare quella che Friedrich Nieztsche, il filosofo romantico per carattere e poeta per vocazione, definiva tout court “la parola del passato che è sempre simile alla sentenza dell’oracolo”. E Simocatta Teofilatto, scrittore bizantino del VII secolo, con maggiore incisività lessicale, aveva affermato lo stesso concetto testualmente: ‘Se nel tuo cuore non canta il poema delle antiche memorie, tu non sei un uomo e non puoi vantarti di essere membro di una nobile città”. Di Giulio Genoino il Capasso delinea un profilo ampio e puntuale. Si sofferma sull’uomo, sulla famiglia, sulla Patria, tracciando della sua arte, che spazia su molteplici aspetti, un’accurata rassegna e inquadrando nel suo tempo quest’uomo straordinario su cui la critica coeva e successiva si è espressa con unanime considerazione e incondizionato apprezzamento.
