A Chinese porcelain vase of slender oviform decorated with panels *£1000 - 1500 containing household and auspicious objects, figures in a landscape, deer and cranes together with subsidiary panels containing flowers and insects reserved on a powder blue ground, early 18th century, 41 cm high, [broken and restuck, mounted as a lamp]. *£500 - 600 422 423 A Chinese export blue and white oval A London decorated Chinese meat dish painted with an extensive porcelain coffee cup painted in green lake scene with pagodas on islands and monochrome in the manner of Fidelle 421 figures on a bridge, late Qianlong, 45 Duvivier with a river landscape scene A Chinese ‘Batavian’ ware famille x 38 cm. with a seated man fishing, a companion rose jar and cover decorated with *£100 - 150 to one side, probably Giles workshop, leaf shaped panels of peonies and circa 1760-65, 6.5 cm high. pomegranates, Qianlong, 22 cm high *£100 - 150 [chip to cover finial]. *£400 - 600 * All lots subject to a buyers premium of 21% plus vat @ 20% 93 424 A pair of Chinese famille rose waste bowls each painted in the Mandarin palette with water buffalo and deer in lake landscapes with floral and diaper borders, Qianlong, 14 cm diameter [rim chip to one, hair crack to the other]. *£100 - 200 425 A matched pair of Chinese blue and white wash-bowls with basket moulded bands below the folded rims and painted with extensive pagoda lake landscapes, late Qianlong, 28 cm diameter [one damaged]. *£100 - 150 Provenance The late R.B.W.Clarke Esq., Bridwell, Uffculme and thence by family descent. 426 A set of six Chinese famille rose/verte octagonal tea bowls and saucers painted with a stag standing by a tree with pierced rockwork and lingzhi, early Qianlong, saucers 11 cm wide. *£300 - 400 Provenance The late R.B.W.Clarke Esq., Bridwell, Uffculme and thence by family descent. 427 A group of Chinese famille verte and iron- red decorated teawares including a set of four Chinese iron red teabowls painted with floral sprays; a set of three famille verte saucers and two matching teabowls; and an iron-red and gilt slop bowl, all Kangxi/early Qianlong [damages]. *£100 - 150 Provenance The late R.B.W.Clarke Esq., Bridwell, Uffculme and thence by family descent. 428 A Chinese blue and white ‘elephant’ kendi with head raised and hollow tusks forming the spout, the saddle cloth painted with ruyi heads on a scale ground, Wanli, 23 cm high [neck damaged]. *£200 - 300 94 429 430 A Chinese Imari chocolate pot and A Chinese famille rose Biblical subject plate painted with ‘Rebecca at the cover of tapered cylindrical form with Well’ pouring water into a golden ewer, Abraham’s servant Eliezer to one side side spout and domed cover, painted in and surrounded by five women holding pitchers, the rim with iron-red and gilt underglaze blue, iron-red and gilt with scrollwork, Qianlong, 23 cm diameter [a rim chip and fritting]. fish, birds, flowers and foliage, early *£500 - 700 Qianlong, 24 cm [chip to cover, finial re-stuck]. *£200 - 300 431 A set of seven Chinese blue and white graduated octagonal dishes and two matching plates painted with two ladies and a dancing boy in a fenced garden, the rims with elaborate borders of butterflies amongst scrolls, flowers and foliage, late Qianlong, 42 and 37 cm, [rim chip], 31 and three 27 cm [one with rim chip], the two plates 22 cm [one damaged]. *£600 - 700 * All lots subject to a buyers premium of 21% plus vat @ 20% 95 432 A pair of Chinese Imari spice boxes and covers each of oval quatrefoil form with pedestal foot and two interior compartments, painted in underglaze blue and iron-red with scrolling flowers and foliage, Kangxi/early Qianlong, 13 cm wide [some fritting]. *£300 - 500 433 A small Chinese Imari chocolate pot and cover and a similar barrel shaped mustard pot and cover both painted with scrolling flowers and foliage in underglaze blue and iron-red, Kangxi/ early Qianlong, 13 and 9.5 cm [the chocolate pot cracked]. *£200 - 300 434 A group of five Chinese blue and white porcelain octagonal dishes including a deep dish, painted with pagoda lake landscapes and flowers within ruyi head, butterfly and foliate borders, late Qianlong, 27-37 cm wide [some chips and fritting] 5. *£300 - 400 435 A London decorated Chinese teapot and cover, a similar milk jug and cover and one other the teapot and first milk jug painted in the Imari palette over the original underglaze blue with figures, pagoda, flowers and foliage, the second milk jug with 436 famille rose floral sprays, all Qianlong, 13 cm, 11 cm and 12 cm [some damage]. A Chinese blue and white ‘dragon’ *£150 - 200 bowl of lobed petal form, painted with * cf. Stephen Hanscombe ‘The Early James Giles and his Contemporary London dragon roundels and foliate and diaper Decorators’; and ‘English Ceramic Circle Transactions’ vol.19 Part 1 pages 1-28, borders, apocryphal six-character paper read by Errol Manners ‘The English Decoration of Oriental Porcelain some Xuande mark, 25 cm. overlooked groups 1700-1750’. *£100 - 200 96 437 A large Chinese yellow ground ‘dragon’ charger with Chuxiugong mark incised and painted in green, white and aubergine with two five-clawed dragons chasing a flaming pearl amongst cloud scrolls and flames within a central medallion, the sides with prunus, peony, chrysanthemum and lotus, the rim with six further dragons, the underside with four dragons and five cranes in flight, underglaze blue four-character mark ‘Chu Xie Gong Zhi’ [Made for the Chuxiu Palace], Guangxu period, 47.5 cm diameter [crack to rim with associated filled chip].
