Yoga V Studio 200 hr. Foundation to Transformation Yoga Teacher Training October 12, 2021 – March 19, 2022 Yoga Alliance 200 hr. Registry Certified. 2021 Yoga Alliance Standards Yoga V Studio 200 Yoga Teacher Training is focused on the foundations of Vinyasa yoga. We believe that teaching a quality yoga class requires a deep understanding of both the physi- cal practice and the philosophy of yoga. This training establishes a learning base in the 8- limb philosophy, along with functional anatomy and the workings of the subtle body in re- lation to the mind-body connection. We believe in setting students up for success and have included several tools to support the learning process. These tools will aid students as they leave the training and enter the studio as teachers. Our goal is not only to help students become thriving teachers but also to establish a thirst for the continued quest for knowledge and the study of yoga. In June 2019, Yoga Alliance launched new Elevated Standards to replace the Legacy Standards under- lying the foundational Registered Yoga School (RYS) 200 credential. This change increases the baseline for this credential, providing consistency across RYS 200s and building confidence in the quality and safety of service that YA members de- liver to their communities. Under these modernized standards, each RYS also assesses the knowledge, skills, and experience of its trainees prior to certifying them as 200-hour teachers against this core curriculum. Due to COVID, the deadline for RYS to implement these new standards has been put on hold. However, Yoga V has decided to pursue certification under the new, more rigorous, standards for this training. We want our trainees to have the best educational experience available and be ready to teach, if they choose, at the end of the training. Faculty Lead Teacher Julie Pomerantz RYT 500, TIYT Julie began practicing yoga in 1998, 2 years after an accident left her physically limited. Initially practicing regaining mobility, she soon noticed heightened energy and a decreased perception of stress. These changes along with her thirst for knowledge inspired her to pursue a long and inten- sive training path. She took her 200-hour teacher training at Yoga V in 2013. She received certifi- cations in Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy (TIYT) in 2015, Yoga For 1st Responders in 2016, Move- ment Therapy in 2016, 300 Hour Advanced Teacher of Advanced Yoga Therapy in 2020, Ayurvedic Health Counselor in 2021 accompanied by numerous workshops along the way. Julie’s classes are a blend of ancient yoga philosophy and modern science. She infuses alignment- based postures with traditional yogic philosophy to unwind the nervous system gently and system- atically. Utilizing her yoga therapy training and her Ayurvedic studies she can design sequences that foster a feeling of being grounded, balanced and liberated. She is also a certified Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga instructor. She has a passion for the outdoors and is committed to serving U.S. Military Veterans and all who have served our country. She also teaches adaptive yoga to people with disabilities. “I have been blessed with many outstanding and impactful teachers; however my greatest teachers have been nature, life and my children.” Lori has been practicing yoga since 1998 and teaching since 2001. She has over 500 hours of teacher training including two level one trainings and a yo- ga therapy training with her Guru, Anthony Bogart, and a therapy training with Douglas Brooks. Lori loves to learn more about yoga and different styles and frequently attends trainings and workshops to bring new knowledge back to her classes. Lori Raper, ERYT 200 Elizabeth has been teaching vinyasa style yoga for 6 years and has been practicing consistently for 12 yrs. Even after all these years, each time she steps onto her mat it is always a new discovery into the mind, body, and spirit. Elizabeth completed a 30 hr Budakon yoga training with Cameron Shayne. She has completed numerous trainings on alignment and E;lizabeth Whitt, ERYT 200 working with injuries with Jamie Elmer among many others. Sarah's yoga journey started when a friend invited her to a class at yogaV in 2009 and she has not looked back since. She received her cer- tification through yogaV in 2011 and continues to absorb as much knowledge as she can whenever possible. Her classes are generally an up-tempo flow and focus on strengthening the body, while also embrac- ing the mental benefits of practicing yoga. Sarah VanBenschoten, RYT 200 RYS 200 hr.
