Preface
Welcome to the 3rd Asian Beach Games, welcome to Haiyang.
The purpose of this Guide is to ensure that the Technical Officials and the Team Leaders are well informed of all the procedures and information pertaining to the Haiyang Asian Beach Games, and to help the Team Leaders direct their teams of the competition.
The Guide consists of such key information as Key Dates, Key Contacts,
Competition Venue, Competition Schedule, Competition Procedures and
Training Information.
HABGOC has made every effort to ensure that the information contained in this guide is correct and up-to-date. However, noting that this project involves so many aspects that it would be hard to fit them in one publication, and changes may occur as the Games is drawing near, we suggest you refer to the Sport Information Desk or the INFO System for more and updated information.

Competition Rules The Powered Paragliding competitions shall follow the rules as laid out in the Local regulations of the Powered Paragliding competitions in the 3rd Asian Beach Games (version 4.4) and the Sporting Code of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale. If dispute arises from the understanding about the Rules of different
language versions, the English version shall prevail. In the case of unforeseeable problems not stipulated in the Rules, corresponding measures shall be adopted in accordance with the OCA Constitution & Rules as well as the rules and regulations stipulated by Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI).

Equipment and Clothes The equipment and clothes of the Powered Paragliding athletes and other relevant personnel should conform to the Local regulations of the
Powered Paragliding competitions in the 3rd Asian Beach Games (version 4.4) the regulations stipulated by Fédération Aéronautique Internationale.
Technical Meeting Date: June 14 evening or June 15 early morning Place: meeting room at the competition venue

Sport Information Desks are located at the competition venue and the Athletes’ Village respectively. Competition Procedures
Arrival at the Venue
Upon arrival at the competition venue, athletes may go to the lounge to prepare for warm-up by session sequence.
Check in Athletes should arrive at the call room to check in 60 minutes prior to the competition start, and the Technical Officials should arrive there 60 minutes prior to the competition start. Uniform check will be conducted before athletes’ entry into the FOP in accordance with Bye-Law to Article 36 of the OCA Constitution and Rules, FAI regulations and
HABGOC guidelines. Entering/Exiting the FOP Technical Officials and Athletes shall enter and exit the FOP through designated passageway. Mixed Zone Mixed Zone is set up in the competition venue as per the stipulation of
OCA to facilitate the communication between athletes and media. According to the requirements of OCA, athletes have to pass through the mixed zone after competition but do not have the obligation to answer the questions raised by reporters. Awards The medals and certificates will be awarded in accordance with the
Article 64 of OCA Constitution & Rules. The champion will be awarded with the gold medal. The runner-up will be awarded with the silver medal.
The third place will be awarded with the bronze medal.
Relevant staff will usher the medalists to the waiting area 15 minutes before the award ceremony. Athletes should wear the official team uniform designated by their own NOCs. Protests and Appeals The procedures for complaints and protests are stated in the Local
Regulations. Doping Control Doping control will be carried out in line with the procedures stipulated by World Anti-Doping Agency under the regulations of Medical Committee of OCA during the 3rd Asian Beach Games. Training Information
The 3rd Asian Beach Games Organizing Committee will provide free training services for sport teams from June 15, 2012 since the Power Paragliding competitions will start on June 17, 2012.
Technical Officials’ Seating Dedicated seats will be reserved for Technical Officials at the venue. Venue Inspection
Powered Paragliding venue inspection will be conducted by Technical Delegate and HABGOC, ASFC officials, Swiss Timing officials on June 13 to ensure the venue meets the requirements and standards of ASFC.
Technical Officials’ Meeting and Training Technical Officials’ meeting and training will be held on June 14, with ASFC officials, Swiss Timing officials and Technical Delegate.
