Statement of EEO Policy This EEO Public File Report is filed in compliance with Section 73.2080(c)(6) of the FCC’s 2002 EEO Rule. This Report has been prepared on behalf of the Station Employment Unit that is comprised of the following stations: KOZZ, KDOT, KTHX, KUUB, KPLY, KHIT, KFOY. Lotus Radio Corp, an equal opportunity employer, is dedicated to providing broad outreach regarding job vacancies, and to ensuring equal opportunity in employment, and non-discrimination in all of its policies and practices, including the area of employment. We consider applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status. The Recruitment Sources are identified by number and listed (with contact information) in the following pages. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the annual Lotus Communications Corp. mangers meeting was conducted virtually from Monday, December 7, 2020 through Thursday, December 10, 2020. Part of the corporate agenda was dedicated to our continuing effort to review and provide information and training to ensure equal opportunity and the prevention of discrimination. All station management personnel met with the Chief Compliance Officer. As part of the procedural review all menu options were examined to determine their effectiveness and how to proceed and enhance the individual station Outreach program. Since the pandemic greatly impacted the station’s ability to participate in the usual in person events, much of the discussion centered around how to reach out to the community in theses unpredictable times. The stations are encouraged to create Outreach campaigns that reach a diverse and significant portion of the community they serve. How to use the virtual technology available was discussed and ideas were discussed that could be implemented. J:\EEO Updates and Minutes\Statement of EEO Policy Although, the FCC is now permitting broadcasters to meet their obligation to widely disseminate information about their job openings solely through the use of online recruitment sources Lotus requires stations to constantly review our recruitment lists and inform those organizations who wish to be notified of job openings. In addition, Lotus stations conduct monthly EEO meetings reinforcing their non-discrimination mission statement and provide an opportunity to discuss upcoming and future Outreach programs. Menu Option #16 – Participation in June 1, 2020– Lotus Radio Corp Lotus Radio other activities designed by the May 31, 2021 Hiring Managers Corp station employment unit to further the goal of disseminating information as to employment opportunities in broadcasting to job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities: Each month, station management personnel meet to discuss our EEO mission statement, including but not limited to, upcoming menu options that promote Equal Opportunity and our policy of non-discrimination as it relates to hiring in the workplace. This regularly scheduled EEO meeting is designed to notify employees of upcoming opportunities and various issues focused on non-discrimination. The basis for our monthly EEO meeting is to reinforce our goal of disseminating information as to employment opportunities in broadcasting to job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities. Menu Option #8 – Establishment of June 1, 2020– All Lotus Corp Lotus Radio training programs designed to enable May 31, 2021 Management and Corp station personnel to acquire skills that Employees J:\EEO Updates and Minutes\Statement of EEO Policy could qualify them for higher-level positions: Lotus Radio Corp offers training programs to all employees interested in cross-training in different departments. In the current year, we have trained the following employees for additional duties. Jon Ballard (On Air Talent) was cross trained in a more active role to assist in Sports Programming. Bryan Elliott, Shaun Fincham and Spencer Wilson (Board Ops) continue to learn more about Sports Programming to assist with programming clocks and commercial implementation. Mandee (Promotions) was cross trained in streaming duties, traffic assistance and business office assistance. Ashley Scherkenbach (Receptionist) was cross trained in streaming duties and traffic as a back- up. Connie Waters (Receptionist) was trained to assist with sales proposals, PSA postings and program report posting to FCC Public File. David Hadel (On Air Talent) was cross trained as a Promotions Assistant. Menu Option #9 – Establishment of June 1, 2020– Lotus Radio new Lotus Radio a mentoring program for station May 31, 2021 employees and Corp personnel. All new hires (from current outside or within the station) are employees offered a mentor to help them through the learning/training process. Account Executives shadow current Account Executives in addition to other employees in other departments to understand the importance of how their role leads to the overall station performance. Remote Techs shadow other Remote Techs for instruction on the set up of remotes and vehicle maintenance. Board Operators and On-Air Talent shadow other Board Operators and On-Air Talent for J:\EEO Updates and Minutes\Statement of EEO Policy instruction of the boards and on-air procedures. Business Managers attend mentoring at the Corporate office and from other Business Managers in the Company to become efficient to meet deadlines. Receptionists are mentored by the Sales Assistant and Promotions Director as well as sitting with employees in every department to understand the importance of their role and the effects on other departments. Stephen Dortch was mentored as an Account Executive. Menu Option #16 – Participation in May 20 – May Lotus Radio Jobs for Nevada other activities designed by the 21, 2021 Management Graduates station employment unit to further the (J4NG) goal of disseminating information as to employment opportunities in broadcasting to job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities: Mike Murray, General Manager spoke to Seniors at Galena High School through Jobs for Nevada Graduates (J4NG) which hosted a two-day, four-session intensive mentoring/coaching program. Mike shared the employment needs of a broadcasting company in the 21st Century along with experience in career field, lifestyle and school requirements for radio positions. Each session focused on one of the following disciplines: • Programming • Engineering • Accounting • Sales The program assists students who sometimes struggle to graduate and find a pathway to a better life. By embedding a caring adult who can provide mentoring, support, inspiration, and workplace-readiness training in Nevada schools, J4NG J:\EEO Updates and Minutes\Statement of EEO Policy helps students reach their highest potential. Menu Option #14 – Provision of June 1, 2020 All Lotus Lotus training to management-level – May 31, personnel Communications personnel as to methods for 2021 Corp ensuring equal employment opportunity and the preventing discrimination: All Lotus Radio Corp personnel are required by Lotus Human Resources to participate in Diversity training through ADP HR Portal Menu Option #15 – Provision of January 13, Lotus Radio Corp Lotus Radio training to personnel of unaffiliated 2021 Management Corp/EAR non-profit organizations interested in /EAR broadcast employment opportunities that would enable them to better refer job candidates for broadcast positions. We had the pleasure to explain our industry and employment needs to the following organizations: EAR – Executive Association of Reno is a non-profit organization comprised of business owners and leaders in the community who are able to identify, recruit and retain the best potential employees. On Wednesday, January 13, 2021, Lotus Radio’s General Manager spoke virtually to nearly 100 of the organizations’ members and provided a detailed description of the opportunities available in Broadcasting and provided in-depth job details of current openings at Lotus Radio.
