— Psalm 118 Happy Easter Sunday! Share the Good News! Easter Greetings from Fr. Maurice

Dear Parishioners, Guests and Friends of Immaculate Conception,

I greet each of you as today we stand with Peter, John and Mary at the entrance of the empty tomb and marvel at the wonders our God has done. Together we proclaim that Christ who suffered, died and was buried is risen! Our Lord is alive and kicking! The sad and heart-wrenching story that ended with a com- ma on Good Friday comes to an end with a period this day as the Risen Christ comes out of the tomb, vic- torious over the powers of death. Easter is thus the victory of life over death, the victory of love over ha- tred, the victory of all that is just, right, and good over all that is unjust, wrong and bad. But Easter also gives us the assurance that we too shall conquer death and enjoy the eternal bliss with our God. Until then, we are to live as Easter people, those who proclaim the “never ending presence of God in the painful situ- ations”, those who rise up against the forces of death and breathe hope into the lives of our brothers and sisters, in our families, in our community and wherever God’s Holy Spirit takes us.

Happy and Fruitful Easter season to you all!
